As soon as I heard the name my heartbeat raised. It felt like a dream. For the first time I was more than grateful for dadi.
My happiness was at it's peak, I quickly went towards Dadi who was just seating on the sofa and hugged her which took her by surprise.
"Kya hua beta?" Dadi asked and I kissed her cheek then replied.
(What happened child?)"Aap jisse shaadi karwana chahte ho, mein usse shaadi karne tayyar hu."
(Whoever you want me to marry, I'm ready to marry her)Dadi looked at me, shocked for me to agree to this marriage.
"K-kyu? Mera matlab achanak aisa kya ho gaya?"
(Why? I mean what happened so suddenly?)"Bas mujhe pata chal gaya ke bade jo bhi karte hai ache ke liye karte hai. Mujhe maaf karna aapko dukhi karne ke liye. Aap sab se achi dadi ho!"
(I just got to know that whatever elders decide is for our best. I'm sorry for hurting you. You are the best grandma)Author's pov.
Gayatri was in utter shock. Ofcourse this wasn't her plan. Her plan was to get Reyansh angry, furious and unready for this marriage. After all she was blinded by Shanaya.
Reyansh left from the hall room and went towards his room while Gayatri stood up angrily, regardless of how old she is, she could walk without any support and was well maintained by herself unlike some Indian Grannies who wears Saree all the time and has a problem walking.
She liked to present herself in every way. The anger on her face was visible even with a good distance. She took her phone which Reyansh handed her and called Shanaya.
"Meri bacchi kesi ho?"
(My child, how are you?)She asked in the sweetest tome ever to which Shanaya replied sweetly.
"Mein achi hu dadi aap kesi hai?"
(I'm good dadi, how are you?)"Mein bhi achi hu meri beti, aaj kal aati hi nahi ho apni dadi ke paas?"
(I'm also good my child, you aren't coming to your dadi nowadays?)"Aisa nahi hai, kaam rheta hai na ghar ka isliye. Aap kaho toh abhi aajau?"
(It's not like that, there work at home so that's why. If you say I'll come now?)"Ha kyu nahi, tere liye toh hamesha darwaza khula hai."
(Yes why not, for you the doors are always open)Shanaya ofcourse was all ready to come to Reyansh's house. Afterall, Gayatri was the only one to have her hopes high.
