Tap...tap...

A pointy finger was tapping his right shoulder but his focus was centered at the dining table.

" Wei?" Nan grunted, acknowledged only with a hum.

" You're staring....at my wife!" Nan spat, arriving to Wei standing crossed arms at the entrance of the kitchen.

" shu...shuu" palms flapped at his face, gaze not lifting from the man at the table.

What the fuck? // He did not....just shush me!// the taller man's entire being protested at the insult.

" Hia... what's your height " Wei whispered and why the hell was he whispering?

" 6'2?" Nan whispered back.

" How tall am I?" Nan side eyed his right hand, a molecule distance away from calling him crazy.

" 5'9!"

" I'm sure I'm taller than that hiaaaaa..." rebuking his words softly, so then why ask him!

" Okay, 6'0 but why are we whispering???" Nan hissed, perplexed. This was his own house, why is he snooping at his own wife as if a thief?

" If we're both built like the twin towers, how has he not yet noticed us?" evoked the absurdness of the situation. Wholly assessing the room, Nan agreed something was indeed wrong if Mac didn't acknowledge them. Two tall man, combined shoulder length sufficient to block the width of the door and yet eyes did not lift from the plate nor did the food enter mouth. Just what was Mac thinking?

" MAC!"

Cutleries dropped loudly in shock, to scatter on his plate, the man finally looking up, expression quickly shifting.

" Hey Nan...Wei....what's up?"

There, that fake cheer was what was wrong, the duo nodding at each other before Wei excused him, allowing the pair to talk. Not answering just as prompt, Nan easily picked up a plate off the dish rack, putting himself some rice, settling next to Mac to eat together.

"Don't you continue to stare at me that way, I'll take 2 rounds tonight!" Nan mock threatened, turned on by dove like eyes following his movements, never missing an opportunity to ravish his wife.

Instead of an usual insult, a blush rose on the smooth cheeks, Mac hiding more into his T-shirt. something that seemed to happen more lately before surprising him.

" okay..."

Okay? Did Mac just say agree to Nan's idea tonight? Did...?

Nan didn't have to pinch himself because the slim man was indeed smiling wide, eyes beaming in happiness. Ignoring the meal in favor of love, pulling the other tightly to his chest, he nuzzled the long neck, promising the best session ever tonight!

This beautiful person in bed with him, Nan realized in the darkest of night, was his beacon of life, the very air he breathed , the one he'd lay his life for without a second doubt. He was not masculine nor tall to tear gaze of men upon entry to room but proud to call Nan his, cared for his well-being , defensive onto anyone who dared speak ill and what more could Nan want? His house was now a home, Mac built it such, trusting him once more, day in day out, sunrise to sunset. If he had this, could he have that?

" Marry me."

The coolness of satin sheets, aided by the softest pillow, cradled his heavy head, lulling him to sleep, exhausted after their sweaty session while Nan was still speaking. Oh, whatever it was , yes ,yes, of course, dismissing him in favor of precious rest.

Nan's sudden chirpiness broke the quietness of night.

" So yes?" Nan repeated for clarity, whiteness of his teeth lighting his entire face.

" Yes, what?" Mac stifled a yawn, eyes adjusting to fluff the pillow more.

" Marriage of course!"

" hhmm... WHAT!!!" Mac shouted, very much awake now, rapidly blinking away the fog to stare at his bed partner. Nan allowed him to gather his bearings, the answer sought to be honored for a lifetime, not wanting any regrets later.

" What games do you play at the oddest time!" but like the psychopath he was, Mac's scolding was received with a smile.

Oh...

really...was he?

OH....

How could he have not seen this coming? Never had he imagined Nan would ask! Or was it Day Itt's wedding 6 months back triggering a want Nan himself didn't know he possessed? Which Mac wasn't certain, waiting for a retraction that never came.

The hopeful eyes staring back at him were steady, not a flicker of doubt nor sleep in them, awaiting patiently. The bastard was serious, earnestly asking Mac's hand in marriage in the middle of April at an ungodly hour! Oh well, he'll just have to wait till Christmas because his probably had months or least hours to think them over and what, give Mac 3 minutes?

Pergh....never!

He needed an eternity at least because Nan was a bastard, thug, specimen, a pain in the ass and the universe worriedly watch her scale tilt sideways dangerously ,cons winning in the absence of pros before Mac thankfully continued.

A boyfriend who allowed him races, reminding hawkers from adding garlic in his dishes, tolerated his sulking episodes eventhough he was almost the reason in every one of them! // Note that point, Your Honor//, confusing the universe if that was a pro or a con, adding a point each!

There was also Nan who stayed the night when he was admitted to the hospital, sponging his fever away, held him up when his feet failed him and the universe paused adding weight, dwelling in nostalgia. Nan was, very much apart of his life now, his home, a non biological family formed through love, adopting him into business and his networks alike because everyone who knew Nan, knew Mac the wife, the bastard leaving no gaps proclaiming it loudly to anyone and everyone. So yes, he could perhaps marry him.

// uh Mac honey, a little louder this time...with words perhaps// the universe reminded.

Oh yeah, right!

Gaze set upon, flutter of butterflies in his heart, warm and content, accepted the proposal with a whisper, yet heard loud and clear as if a shout to the receiver. Unlike his usual rough self, Nan gathered the blushing cheeks in the cradle of his palm, the last inches between them diminished, Nan kissing his fiancée for the first time, gentle and deep, reciprocation coming easily. A kiss lead to another, Nan rolling over, engulfing the smaller man's body and mind with a blanket of security, lips travelling the handsome face, brushing over eyelids and ears, whispering the filthiest things he planned for Mac on their wedding night.

" I still want a ring though " Mac declared, amidst congratulations and celebratory atmosphere , Nong's cheering upon hearing the news the very next morning. Wei sort of stood aside, smiling quietly, as if he predicted this, holding Nan a little tighter.

His big brother was getting married!

Promising to get one soon, the duo left home after breakfast, eager to tell Dad. Nan was already like a son in law, helping out at the factory and vendor management, so this was merely sealing the deal for Dad, a person to take care of his child, wishing whatever shortfall he bestowed upon Mac as a single parent, will be fulfilled by his own husband. Accepting the news and granting his approval with outmost joy, Por looked up to his late wife in the family portrait adorning the grand staircase.
