18: Losses

As they broke through the forest trees, they had one goal. To bring back the girls.

Now that they were aware of his illusion, it wasn't too difficult for them to acquire Yozora in his tracks.

But, that didn't mean he was completely done for.

Natsu was faster at running than Gajeel was, but Gajeel had a better nose than Natsu, so te two were using teamwork to find him and get through his illusion.

They could no longer see him, but with the illusion gone, Gajeel could pick up his scent easier.

"He's still in this forest. We gotta be quiet, and get the jump on him." Gajeel explained.

"Alright." Natsu nodded "We'll do this together."

"You sure?" Gajeel was concerned "He uses a strange type of magic with steam in it."

"Oh hell no..." Natsu Groaned.

"Yeah, I know. But hey, it heats up my iron and I can attack him easier." Gajeel said.

"But, won't that also hurt you? If you take too much in?"

"Yeah, but if it's over Levy, I'm willing to do anything for her." Gajeel replied in a determined tone.

"Good man." Natsu nodded.

A minute more of searching and Gajeel picked something up. A scent. And it wasn't far.

"I think I got it... That bastard. He isn't far. Now, be quiet."

As they slowly ventured closer to the approximate location of the scent, something wasn't feeling right to either of them.

And they were right about it.

They were about to see a gruesome transformation...
