3 September 2018 - Deloris POV

My head feels heavy,
I'm so nervous about the party. I've tried on at least ten outfits, but I don't like anything.

My phone buzzes, it's Joan calling. I answer.
“Hey, ready for the party?” She asks.
“No, I don't have anything to wear.” I explain.
“Just wear something you like and feel comfortable in.” She mentions.
“Alright, I think I'll be ready in 10.” I say.
“Okay, text me your location, and I'll be on my way.”

I'm wearing dark blue baggy pants with a long sleeved black crop top.
I wear my usual necklaces, which are two silver necklaces, one with my initial and the other one is a star.

My hair is in a messy bun, and I'm wearing light make-up. I still don't like it, but I guess it's okay.

My phone buzzes. “I'm here.” Joan texts. I grab my phone, keys, and exit my apartment.
“Omg, you look amazing!” Joan says excitedly.
“Thanks, you too!” I reply, looking at her black dress and gold necklace. She smiles before starting the car.

We entered the party. It's exactly how I imagined it.
It's like one of those high school parties from a movie. Joan pulls me with her towards Dante and Reggie.
“Let's get fucked up!” Reggie yells. We make our way to the table with drinks. I've drank two times before, but I've never been drunk, only tipsy. We all grab a shot, I have no idea what this is.
“3..2..1..go!” Joan says. We all throw our heads back. It slightly burns in my throat, but not in a bad way.

We walk to the living room and dance to the music.
For the first time in years, the music is louder than my thoughts.
I always thought a party would be more scary, but it isn't. It's actually fun. As long as you have drinks and friends.
Joan grabs my hands and spins me around. We both laugh and are both pretty tipsy.

It's almost 2 am.
Tomorrow is a school day, I'm going to be so tired. Dante and I are sitting outside. There are so many people that I recognise from my classes.
“Let's grab some more drinks.” He says.
“Yeah, sounds good.” I reply. We stand up and make our way to the kitchen. A lot of people are here, and everybody is yelling to communicate. Loud music blasts from the living room.

My eyes find Billie.
She was already staring at me. She wears the same pants as earlier today, but now with a white tank top.

She is so pretty, but so mean.
I look away and grab another shot.
“Have you ever been drunk before?” Joan asks over the loud music. I shake my head. Joan laughs.
“Good luck then.” I'm not sure what she means by that, but I smile at her. In a cup, I mix a few drinks that are here. I also add some fanta.

“Enjoying the party?” A voice asks. I turn around to be faced with Billie. She looks down at me and is standing super close.
I slowly nod my head, not being able to find the words.

She rolls her eyes. A boy says something to her. She laughs softly.
“bet.” She says before throwing a drink over my clothes.
“What is your problem?!” I hiss at her. Feeling tears form in my eyes.
“You're my problem.” She says. Dante pushes Billie away.
“Leave her alone, Billie.” Dante says, and he stands in front of me.

My thoughts are all over. Why did she do that? What just happened?
My shirt is sticky, and I smell like walking vodka.

“Are you okay?” He asks. His eyes meet mine, and I nod.
“Yeah sure.” I say. My eyes follow Billie as she walks away.
Dante pulls me into an empty room, and Joan and Reggie follow.

They close the door and look at me.
"Well, you've met Billie now, but stay away from her, okay?” Joan says.
“What is her problem?” I ask.
“She is just mean to people. Just stay away from her. That is the best.” She explains.
“Oh, okay.” I reply.

“Well you can also see it as a compliment.” Dante says.
“Why?” I ask, totally confused.
“She's mean to people she feels intimidated by.” He explains. I frown my eyebrows.
“Why would she be intimidated by me?”

It's such a weird story, in my opinion. But ignoring her won't be a problem, I don't even know her.
“Probably because you're pretty.” Joan says. I laugh softly. There is no way Billie thinks that.

We make our way to the car. My clothes are sticky and I feel dirty. Reggie, Dante, and Joan are talking with each other, and I just stay quiet.

I'm mad at Billie for throwing that drink on me without a reason, so I'll probably ignore her.
But something about her makes me want to get to know her and get close to her.
I sigh and close my eyes for a moment, still spinning from all the drinks.

“We're here.” Joan says softly. I smile.
“Thanks for the ride.” I say and smile.
“We've put you in our group chat, by the way.” Reggie says.
“Great.” I say with a smile and get out of the car. It's kind of a struggle to get up the stairs, I'm tired and dizzy. After five minutes, I'll arrive at my apartment and open the door. I take a quick shower, and then I can finally go to bed.
