Bhasmasura is a demon who worshipped lord Shiva and got a boon for his dedication. And his boon is, if he touches anyone's head with his palm then they will turn into ashes.
As he got the boon and wanted to try it on someone. And he thought who would be better than Lord Shiva. So when he tried to keep his palm in shiva's head when the lord Shiva is meditating. Then, the saviour lord Vishnu incarnated to a woman form which is Mohini.
As Mohini is a very beautiful lady, Bhasmasura got enchanted towards her beauty. Mohini slowly made him to dance with her. While dancing Mohini Devi made him to keep his hand on his head which made him turn into ashes........
