together like this
"Do you want to head back into the dorms? It's late," Hyunjin wondered, looking at the clock on his phone. "What time is it?" She glanced over at him. "It's past midnight already."
"We've been here for so long?!" Izzy's eyes widened and she reached out for her own phone to check it herself. "Oh god, I need to call them back right away or they'll kill me."
"Who is 'they'?"
"Hana and Seungmin, I have a bunch of missed calls from them. I completely lost track of time," she answered, already calling Seungmin. Then it hit her. She completely lost track of time when she was with him.
"You really are an ass," she scoffed when she realized she spent the whole night with him. "What did I do now?" He wondered, not even taking it personally anymore. "Absolutely everything," she answered before paying attention to the call again when she heard Seungmin's sleepy voice. "I see," Hyunjin scoffed, just calmly watching her from his seat on the bench.
"I woke you up? Sorry," Izzy apologized quickly. "It's fine, at least you didn't wake up Hana. She almost didn't go to sleep because of how worried she was," he explained, glancing at the sleeping girl next to him. Her hair was a mess, falling in front of her eyes but also being all over the pillow. Still, he found her more cute than ever. "You didn't get kidnapped or something, did you?"
"No, I am fine. I mean, not really but at least I am safe. I am with Hyunjin," she informed him, looking at the black haired boy in front of her. "Wanna say hi or something so he can peacefully go back to sleep?" She asked, handing her phone to Hyunjin.
"She is fine, Seung. Just freaking out because she is realizing she likes me," he joked, but Izzy didn't think of it as a joke. Instead, she felt scared. Scared that he could read her so well.
Scared that he might be right.
"Bring her back, alright? Don't let her walk alone."
"I wouldn't do that," Hyunjin assured him. "I came to the realization I like her too much to do that."
"Excuse you?" She interrupted him. He chuckled, telling Seungmin they'll be back soon before hanging up. "Don't just give me that pretty ass smile of yours and wait a damn minute, you said what?"
"You think I have a pretty smile?" He smirked, putting her phone into his pocket as if it was his.
"You just- This is why you're an ass! You can't just- I-" She started panicking, her face turning red. She never had much experience when it came to boys so it wasn't a big surprise she was flustered when she just saw her so-called rival basically confess to her.
"Sure, darling, whatever you say," he chuckled, standing up. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders, heading back towards the dorms. She was too stunned to say anything, so she just went with him, trying to not think about how close he was.
It was all easy for him. He always had whatever he wanted, whoever he wanted, and even though Izzy wished she could be an exception and prove to him that there are still some girls who won't fall for him, she couldn't hide the fact her heart was beating faster and faster.
"Don't you think it's weird?" Izzy mumbled as they slowly walked towards the dorms. "What is?" He wondered, letting his hand fall back to his body when he saw some students still drinking and laughing in the hallways. "Us. Together like this."
"That's what you've been thinking about this whole time? There's no need for you to worry about that, we are not together after all," he answered. "Your door is over there, can I trust you enough to walk there on your own or do you need me to look after you?"
"Stop joking around," she interrupted him, her face suddenly getting all serious. "I know it's late so...can we talk about this in the morning?"
"What is there to talk about?"
Izzy hesitated, looking down at the portrait she was still holding. It got destroyed when they were running around but she still couldn't let go of it. "Uhm, I think we should- no, uhm, I want to talk about...everything? Kind of? If we could?" She looked up at him again, making it impossible for him to say no to her. "Please?"
Hyunjin nodded to her, "I'll come around ten then, does that sound good?"
"Perfect," she nodded, too. "Thank you, I appreciate it."
"Shouldn't I be the one thanking you for still talking to me? It's nothing, just don't break my heart too much tomorrow," he chuckled, trying to make a joke, but deep down it was exactly what he was thinking. He didn't want to meet her again, not tomorrow, not ever. He knew seeing her again would mean getting rejected and he didn't want that.
"Good night," she smiled, making him nod. "Good night, Izzy."
Hyunjin turned around, ready to leave and go to his own dorm room when she spoke up again. "Just so you know, I don't plan on rejecting you tomorrow," she proclaimed as if she was reading his mind. He smiled, but didn't turn around again to face her. He just waved at her, walking away.
The brunette watched his back, thinking about everything that happened today. If last week anyone told her this would be happening she would probably laugh into their face and then complain to her friends about it.
But it was happening.
She was thinking about seeing Hyunjin in a romantic way.
