new employee
The black haired girl put her hair up into a ponytail so it wouldn't get anywhere, carefully observing everything her co-worker was doing. "Got it?" The pink haired girl turned around, finally facing the taller girl. "I...think so," Bora nodded, scolding herself inside her head for staring at her again. "I think I remember most," she added, noticing the worried look on Jisoo's face. "I'll be fine. And you're here with me, so nothing can happen," she smiled, walking closer to her.
"Right," Jisoo slightly nodded, trying to get her mind back to focusing on her work. She wasn't sure how she would function with Bora around her all the time just yet, but she was sure she'll figure that out later.
It was Monday again, and because of Jisoo's talk with the café owners during the weekend, Bora managed to find a part-time job like she wanted. And so far, she loved it. It might have been just because Jisoo was there with her and she could have an excuse to look at her, but she wanted to believe she would enjoy the work itself too.
"Do you want to just take orders for today and we'll see how that goes?" The pink haired girl offered and Bora nodded to her, getting to the cash register.
Jisoo watched her with a smile for a few seconds as she took her first order, putting it into the system - correctly like Jisoo noticed. Right when she noticed she was going to turn towards her to tell her the order, she turned around already walking towards the coffee machine as if she wasn't just standing there the whole time.
No matter how secretive Jisoo tried to be about it, Bora noticed, and it made her smile. She gave the girl ordering her recipe, telling her to wait for a bit before she walked over to Jisoo, giving her the little note sheet with the order. "If you want to stare, try to do it so I don't notice or I could think you have a crush, Ji."
Jisoo could tell her cheeks were turning the color of her hair, so she just took the order from her, avoiding eye contact as much as she could. "I wasn't staring," she argued, but Bora just patted her shoulder and walked away, making her turn around immediately again. Jisoo sighed, realizing what she was doing. "I wasn't staring," she repeated, this time way more quieter.
As less people started coming, and more were leaving, the café got quiet, and Jisoo loved that moment. With only a few people in it truly felt like a small café place, with a family-like vibe, which is something she always wanted.
She leaned over the counter, just looking around, not even noticing Bora joined her. "Ji." The pink haired girl turned her head to the side, questioning what she needed. "Do you want to go grab dinner with me when we are done?"
"Dinner?"
"I want to go on a date with you," Bora admitted, carefully observing the change in her eyes to see if she didn't weird her out or anything. "It doesn't have to be dinner, I'd be fine with anything."
"I'd love to have dinner with you," Jisoo nodded with a smile.
During the rest of their shift, their behavior changed a bit. Neither one of them was as scared to look at the other one while they worked anymore, they weren't hesitant to talk to each other, and they weren't that worried anymore when their hands accidentally brushed while passing the orders.
Jisoo changed from her work clothes first, waiting in the front for her date. The café was already empty and the two of them were the only ones inside. Everything was already cleaned up, and all that was left to do was to lock the door.
"Sorry for taking too long," Bora laughed a bit in embarrassment, rushing to the pink haired girl so they could leave.
The two of them walked next to each other, just thinking out loud about things together, and admiring the night sky.
"None of the rumors going around school about you are true, am I right?" Jisoo glanced over at the taller girl, a sign of pity in her eyes. She felt sorry for her. It wasn't even that long since she transferred here and people were already saying the worst things.
"I don't know what you heard," Bora shrugged, not really carrying. "But yeah, none of the ones I heard are true. I don't really care though, people can say whatever as long as my friends are on my side."
Jisoo smiled again, looking back at the sky. "I am definitely on your side, if you care about that."
"I care about that more than you think," the taller girl mumbled, looking the same way she was.
It didn't take much longer and the two made it into the restaurant, sitting down at table for two.
"I totally forgot to ask you before, I heard Riley and Chris got together? What's right about that?" Jisoo asked when their food was already ordered and they were just waiting now. "When I called her earlier today to ask about it she didn't pick up and just texted me that she'll call me when she is less busy but I haven't heard from her since."
"Those rumors are right," Bora chuckled. "She was with him yesterday and only came back to the dorms after dinner. Unlike Alaska, who was there the whole day with Felix," she explained casually. Jisoo scoffed, shaking her head. "And they both tried to convince me there was nothing between them before."
"She tried to tell me the same thing, but I think she gave up on convincing people because I saw them kissing," she confessed. "Don't tell anyone though, I think they are trying to keep it a secret. Probably just because of Hyunjin, but still." Jisoo nodded right away. There was no reason for her to tell anyone else.
"I know about someone who got together too," the pink haired girl proclaimed. "Seungmin finally got the courage to ask Hana out. I think she said they were going to have dinner together tonight too actually."
"All our friends are getting together," Bora commented, chuckling a bit at how bizarre that was. "Maybe it will be our time next."
Jisoo could feel her cheeks getting red again as she slightly nodded, "maybe."
