first date
The brunette sat down on her chair, watching the taller male sit opposite her, a smile on her face. It did not seem that weird to her anymore. It felt like they had gone to grab dinner together many times before.
"It feels as if it was our fifth date already or something," she commented quietly as her eyes scanned the menu. Hyunjin glanced from the menu in his hands at the girl opposite him, blinking a few times to ensure he heard her correctly. "You think so?" He asked. To him, it was a sign of her being comfortable, and that got him more excited.
"Mhm," she hummed, nodding. "Maybe because of how much time we spent together lately," she smiled, looking down at the food again to hide her embarrassment. Just as if Robin knew Izzy needed some help, she called her, finding an excuse for the brunette to change the topic.
Izzy quickly reached for her phone on the table, looking at who was calling before she picked up. "Izzy, I have a request," the purple-haired girl said immediately without any greetings. "What's up?" Izzy wondered confusedly.
"Jisung is staying over. I already kicked Seungmin out of the dorm, and I was wondering if you could sleep somewhere else, too," she explained. "That's all?" The brunette chuckled. "Sure, I'll find a place. Have fun, and don't sleep with him in my bed." Robin laughed, nodding to her.
"Robin has Jisung over," Izzy explained when she saw the curiosity in his eyes. "Ah," he nodded, not saying anything else. It was quiet for a while after that, but neither of them minded. It was a comfortable silence.
Even though they didn't care about the silence at first, the two of them soon found themself in a conversation that they knew wasn't ending anytime soon. From talking about their favorite movies to drawing and dancing - which left Izzy's jaw open for a long time after she found out he dances, and finally, to their plans.
"I am not sure, to be honest," the brunette admitted as she took another bite of her food. "And I thought about it a lot," she added to make sure he knew she wasn't one of the people who didn't care about their future.
"I mean, I enjoyed the part-time job I had last year in the café at the campus, but I feel like I couldn't last for long if I opened a café or something," the brunette mumbled, hesitating about whether she should tell him about it. There weren't many people who knew she always wanted to open a café, and she liked it that way. She knew it wasn't the best idea after all. That's also why she has been telling people she wants to be an art teacher instead. It was something she would love to do, but it was still nowhere close to her love for a cute café shop, possibly with a bookstore too. "I'll probably just end up studying art some more and then go teach it."
"I better study hard so I can make money that will make it possible for you to do what you love, even if it means opening a café that will cost me thousands every month," Hyunjin answered, a chuckle escaping his lips. Izzy blushed at his words, glancing at her plate so he wouldn't see her flushed cheeks. He wanted her in his future.
"I already told you I like you, you don't have to say things like this to make me fall in love," she mumbled, refusing to look up at him. "But are you?" He asked, his lips curving into a teasing smirk. "Am I-" she started, looking up at him again, his look making her go crazy. If she was blushing before she didn't want to know what she looked like right now. "What?" she finished her sentence, whispering now as she was too stunned to speak.
"Are you falling in love?" Hyunjin wondered. Izzy could swear she wanted nothing more than kiss the annoying smirk off his face. "I hate you," she mumbled, her face red like a tomato. "You said that before," he chuckled. "Still haven't changed your mind, darling?"
"Oh, shut up," she brushed him off, taking another bite of her food, trying to ignore his look, and the urge to kiss him right then and there. "I swear if you say 'make me'" she warned him when she saw him open his mouth again. He simply chuckled, watching her as he took a bite of his food instead.
"You piss me off," Izzy proclaimed as the two of them were leaving the restaurant. She saw the smile on Hyunjin's face slowly disappear and started talking again. "But...I must admit, it was fun," she smiled. "And you really do make me slowly fall in love," she admitted, carefully reaching her hand to him. He didn't hesitate at all and held her hand immediately, proudly grinning as he walked out of the restaurant with her. He didn't care about who would see them. All he could think about at the moment was the girl next to him, and how lucky he was.
"I am glad," he mumbled with a smile, squeezing her hand.
"I should call Amy and ask if she would mind me crashing over tonight," Izzy said, taking out her phone from her pocket with her empty hand. "God, actually Seungmin might be sleeping there already since Robin kicked him out, right?" She realized, trying to think about who else to call. "I'll try calling Laska then."
"Wait, don't call her," Hyunjin stopped her as she scrolled through her contacts. "You don't have to sleep over at hers," he proclaimed awkwardly. "You know, my bed is quite big," he informed her. She was aware. She still remembered how she woke up in his bed after the party.
The brunette blushed when she thought about it, still holding his hand as she locked her phone again. "If you don't mind then..." she nodded to him, looking up at him to see what he was thinking. "I'd love for you to sleep over," he assured her.
"We still need to stop by Amy's dorm though, I need to get some clothes to sleep in and something to wear tomorrow."
"My closet is full of clothes," he reminded her, not daring to look her in the eyes. He knew he was pushing the limits probably more than he should. Izzy could feel her cheeks heating up again, somehow unable to refuse him. The two of them had only gone on one real date, but they were acting as if they were dating for months.
For some reason, Izzy didn't mind it at all.
