Aster had taken Serena to the sitting room where the two of them talked as they had been playing a game on a console that Aster had. He wanted her to relax a bit before he talked to her about what he wanted to ask her in the hospital. Serena enjoyed being able to have time to spend with Aster, it was nice being able to be around him. Especially knowing that he felt the same as she did about her that she felt about him.
She was a woman of her word and didn't speak up about the situation that almost happened in the hospital, instead she just enjoyed that he wanted to spend time alone with her for once. As it got close to night time Aster looked at her. "Does your brother know that you are out of the hospital?"
"He does and he knows that I'm here with you. Even though he does want to see you one day-he wants to see the man that cares so much about his baby sister." Serena said with a nod of her head
"Just what did you tell your brother?"
"The truth. That you are the only man that I can see myself with that the only reason that I believe that is because of how smart you are and how concerned and compassionate you are about me. He mentioned to me how he had been surprised to know that there was a male out there that cared that much about me. So he wants to at some point see you so he can see if it's worth it for me to be around you or not." Serena said honestly with a shrug of her shoulders
Aster let out a small sigh before he smiled at her. "Maybe one day, We haven't been around one another in a long while because of our jobs. I'd like to re-get to know you before I ask you out if that's alright with you?"
She nodded her head. "I'm more than okay with that, why do you think I stopped you from saying anything about it when I was in the hospital? I didn't want you to make a quick decision like that without knowing just what you were getting yourself into."
Aster's blue eyes widened hearing her speak. "No kidding....I thought it was because you were in the hospital...not because you wanted me to get to know the adult version of you."
"I'm not like twiddle dumb and dumber across the hall. I have a brain and I know how to use it." Serena said as she smiled sadly at him
"Well if that's the case, how about the two of us go out my treat? There's this place that opened up not long ago that isn't far from here that I think you'd like."
She nodded her head as she placed the controller down. "Sure, I'd like that Aster."
He exited out of the game and turned the console and the TV off before the two of them left out. When they had left his apartment Jesse and Jaden had just left theirs. Serena kept close to Aster and even went as far as holding onto his arm tightly not wanting to be anywhere near the duo. Aster locked the door before he placed a hand on Serena's arm. "Let's go."
"Kay."
She refused to let go of his arm the entire time they left the apartment and got onto the street, Serena looked up at Aster as she frowned. "Do you think they'll follow?"
"You can count on that happening, but don't worry I won't let them talk with you unless they wish to apologize to you. I highly doubt they'd ever do that though, they aren't smart enough to know where they went wrong with you."
She nodded her head and let out a sigh "I am sorry that I'm so close to you like this Aster."
"Don't be, if I had a problem with it I would have told you. Honestly, I am happy that you trust me enough to be this close to me." Aster said with a smile on his face
As they had gotten to the restaurant that Aster wanted to take her to, she let go of his arm as he opened the door for her. She went in and he followed after. The two of them were seated at a both, and the waitress took their drink orders. Once the waitress was gone Aster leaned against the table. "So how are things with your family? Obviously you are good terms with your elder half brother, but about the others?"
"Well...three months ago I was able to have time to spend with my family. My father never knew about my mother kicking me out or disowning me. He was pissed at my mother for doing that just because of something I felt firm about. He was proud of me for doing what I had and told me to ignore my mother's nonsense. So I have a good relationship with my father." Serena began to explain happily
Aster smiled hearing that she at least had one of her parents on her side. "I'm glad to hear that. What about your full blood siblings?"
"My younger siblings are siding with me on the subject. I was able to talk to all three of them and they have my back on the subject." Serena said with a smile
"And your elder two sisters?" Aster inquired
She shook her head "They wouldn't even look at me let alone talk to me...I think they are taking my mothers side of things which is whatever. They've never been good elder siblings to me so like I need them in my life."
"That's fair, well I'm glad that at least some of your family has your back."
She nodded her head "Mhm, I'm glad about that too. I'm at least glad that my father has my back."
