Once they had their drinks and ordered what they wanted, Aster took the time to get to know what she was doing with her life since graduating out of the college that she went to.

"You had mentioned before that you had graduated the college you went to, how did that go for you?"

"Well enough, the only ones that saw me get my degree was my elder brother and his ex-wife Mira. You told me to keep radio silence so I couldn't tell anyone else about it."

"That's fair, I had told you to so. I'm actually surprised that you had listened to me. Two months ago I had actually forgotten that I told you to delete all of your social media, I had a slight tweak moment when I couldn't find you."

Serena laughed a bit with a smile. "How could you forget your own words like that Aster?"

"Well I have been dealing with a lot, taking over my fathers business has taken a lot out of me. Especially since I can't seem to find the right person to be a secretary for the building. Everything has landed on me to do."

Serena raised an eyebrow at him curiously "What type of company did your father own anyways? I know you had said before in high school that you had found out that your father had left a shit ton to you. But you never mentioned the type of company he had."

"It's a tech company of some sort, I'm still trying to wrap my brain around everything and I've been playing as CEO for a few years now." He said shaking his head

"Oh damn...well if that's the case then you'll probably need someone who has more brains than bronze to help you out."

"Someone like you?" He inquired.

Serena placed her hands out in front of her and shook her head. "I could never, sure my sub major was to be a secretary my main major is Early childhood Education."

"C'mon Serena, do you really think that the school would actually agree to have someone as brilliant and brash like you in their walls?" Aster inquired with a raised eyebrow

Serena wanted to object-but she knew he was right and averted her eyes. "How about this, if I don't get anything by the end of the month then I will take up the offer."

He smiled hearing her speak. "Alright, I can work with that. How are things working out with your brother and you? Are you dealing with the same thing different person?"

Serena shook her head no "Goodness no, my brother knows better than to fuck me over like that. He has been letting me know when things are due though, and apparently his rent went down which has been good for the both of us."

"Well I'm glad to hear that you're doing well with your elder brother, I was rather concerned about that. I know you had said you were good with your brother I just don't want him to walk over you like Jaden and Jesse had." 

Serena frowned and let out a sigh "I really do hate that they treated me so badly, Jaden was my childhood friend. We've gone through so much together and he just had to fuck it up with what he had done."

Aster could tell that talking about them was really upsetting her. "Serena, maybe you should just allow them to talk to you one last time so you can have closure. I know you are more than upset and angered at them for what they've done but it won't get any better if you don't allow them to talk to you."

Serena took a deep breath before she looked at him "Yeah...guess you're right about that. Just...I don't want to talk to them alone. I don't want them to think that they can get away with saying nonsense to guilt trip me into thinking that I'm in the wrong."

Aster was in thought for a moment before he looked at her. "How about if I set up a place and time and it can be a big get together for the group?"

Serena's red eyes lit up hearing his suggestion. "I think that's a good idea! Just when?"

Aster grinned at her. "How about on your birthday? It will show whether or not people will remember your birthday or not."

Serena averted her eyes hearing what he said. "Do you think that people will actually remember?"

"I'm not so sure, but it will defiently see who is a true friend and who isn't."

"May I make the opposition that if Jesse and Jaden don't bring a gift for me that I can refuse speaking to them and instead you talk for me?"

Aster nodded his head. "I can work with that. You had lived with them for five years-I highly doubt the two of them remember anything about you if they were as selfish as they were. Speaking of you living with them-had they ever done anything for you for your birthdays?"

She shook her head no as their food came to the table, they both thanked the waitress before they ate and continued to talk with one another. Aster frowned as he thought about what she had gone through.

"Did you celebrate theirs?"

"All the time." she said sadly

"This is really messed up, Jaden swears up and down that he wanted to help you out yet he treats you just as bad as your damn mother had when you lived with them." Aster said sadly

Serena placed her fork down as she placed her hands together between her legs. "Now do you understand why I don't want to talk to them?"

"I'm slowly understanding, just what the hell have they been doing for the last five years?"

"Honestly...I don't know. I've felt so disconnected to them over the last few years, the only time I saw them was at work and even then it was rare that the two of them and I had the same shifts. Which that has completely stopped, the owner and manager have made sure that I work the days that they don't or if we do work the same day that I work the opposite shift that they do."

"So you don't even see them there anymore do you?"

Serena shook her head. "I have a rather reasonable manager and boss."

"Well that's good to hear." He said with a smile

"Mhm."

The two of them finished eating and Aster paid for their dinners like he said that he would before the two of them left out together. As they did Aster held her hand in his "Do you mind if I meet up with your brother? I'd like to see just who is taking care of you."

"Yeah sure, I see no problem with that."
