Ayanokoji Kiyotaka's Point Of View

Growing up in The White Room, it was already difficult to find fellow students of the same gender due to the circumstances that led to our modern society, but I never expected it to be to this extreme.

I stood up from my seat, ignoring all the questioning stares of my new classmates, and walked towards the front of the class for my introduction.

These gazes of my classmates all displayed similar emotions ranging from curiosity and all the way towards lecherous desires. Although, considering my predicament, I'm not surprised. After all, I am the only male joining this class this year.

With my final few steps, I got towards the front and turned to my class.

"Uhm, my name is Ayanokoji Kiyotaka... I don't have any particular hobbies-- Uhm... But, well, I hope to get along with everyone... Thank you for listening."

I botched it...

Well then, I'm sure you must be full of questions by now, so let's go back 70 years to fill in the blanks. That's right. No build-up or mystery. I am going to explain everything right here and right now. Be grateful for my generosity.

In the year 19XX, humanity was hit with a mysterious plaque that afflicted its host with effects completely unheard of at the time. You see, this plaque would immediately limit the growth of testosterone in its male hosts, turning all men born during and after the plaque into husks of their previous self.

To avoid wasting your time, I'll leave these effects to your imagination.

Years followed, yet no cure was found. No matter what, it was impossible to clear mankind of this curse. The plaque, now named "Minus Y", became something we had to live with.

But this wasn't the end of the plaque's cruelty it struck upon humanity. It didn't only limit men of their birth rights but also altered the biology of women in a way it could risk the survival of our entire species. It reduced the chance of the XY chromosome being found in born infants to a less than three percent chance. Or, to be exact, to 2.56410256%.

With each passing generation, men started losing less of what made them 'men' while their value skyrocketed. We suddenly turned from just half of the population into delicacies and treasures.

All men born were immediately given over to the government first and registered to be monitored before being returned to their families. Refusal to comply or any person found to harbor an unregistered male would be afflicted with dangerous charges.

Now then, with that out of the way, I'll elaborate on my upbringing.

I was born in a loving family around in the cities of Saitama-- who am I kidding. You know who I am. I grew up in the same desolate facility that makes up almost all of my backstories in these stories.

The White Room. A program whose main aim was to produce artificial geniuses and powerful weapons for investors who funded the program. The only difference is those of its unwilling participants.

'That woman', or my biological mother, did not expect her first and only child she'll ever give birth to via artificial insemination to be a male. My sudden birth would've come as a fortunate surprise to any other mother, a blessing as that. But my mother had different ambitions. What others saw as a gift she saw as an opportunity.
