First day at hogwarts, I was excited but also so nervous. I could be placed into two houses due to my family hufflepuff and slytherin, I finished loading up my stuff as my mother came into my room she had a happy but also sad smile.
"What's wrong mother" I asked turning towards her fixing my hoodie
"Oh nothing sweet heart just going to miss having you around the manor but we must get a move on or you'll miss the train but here this was your grandmother's then mine given to us on out first days at hogwarts" my mother handed me a small box inside was a necklace it was a ruby rose I smiled and put it around my neck.
"Thank you mother" I smiled I hear a squak and looked to see my father bringing in a cage inside was a beautiful golden owl "father he's beautiful"
"He is yours y/n." He smiled while my father was usually a cold man he did have some nice qualities " now let's get a move in ya?"
"I'm all packed" I smiled
At the station
It was time for boarding I got on the train and looked for a cabin to sit in when I heard a cold harsh tone I recognized
"Merlo" I turned to see draco malfy
"Malfoy hi" I smiled sweetly
"Your parents told me to find you and for you to sit with me" he put his hand in between my shoulder blades and lead me to his cabin
"Thank you malfoy" we walked inside. Inside were two boys
"Merlo this is crabbe and goyle" draco motioned to them and they smiled making me uncomfortable I sat next to draco and grabbed my book starting to read
"So merlo what year are you" goyle asked
"First year" I didn't look up but shifted my self further back into my seat.
"Quite cute for a first year aye crabbe" the sentence maid my skin crawl
"Quite goyle" crabbe chimed in
"Bloody hell will you both leave her alone you damn idiots" I looked over at draco surprised he looked more irritated as he spoke
"Sorry" goyle and crabbe said in unison
Draco meet my gaze and I mouthed thanks to him he nodded and continued to look out the window I read my book eventually crabbe and goyle left the cabin for something or another and I got up grabbing the blanket out of my carry-on.
"You cold?" Draco looked at me
"No I'm boiling that's why I'm grabbing a blanket malfoy" I laugh and had a sarcastic tone in my voice as I sat back down he laughed a little
"I think this will be the start of a good friendship merlo" he chuckled
"I'm glad to hear it malfoy" I yawned a little and rested my head on the wall
"I'll wake you when we get close don't worry the two idiots won't bother you while I'm here"
"Thanks malfoy"
"No problem" with his words i drifted off to sleep. Soon I was woken"y/n wake up you won't want to miss this view"
"Hmm?" I rubbed my eyes and saw draco looking out side the window my eyes followed as we saw a large castle with tall peaks made out of stone, Hogwarts! "Wow" I smiled
After what seemed like forever it was time for the sorting ceremony, my class walked to the front of the great hall we all went in alphabetical order finally it was my turn and magonical called my name.
"Y/n merlo" she gestured me up and I sat down, she placed the hat on my head and it spoke
"Hmmm I see two conflicting houses fighting to the top in this one which will win.... hmm Intersting..... HUFFLEPUFF"
A cheer errups from a table of yellow and I smile going over there I sit down and I see draco smirk his eyes say he is a little disappointed but he gives me a reassuring nod and I smile back.
