Sonic the Hedgehog: Attached

Chapter 2: Green Hills

The group got into a plane that Tails called the Tornado. Sonic didn't say a word as he held on to the wing of the plane with Knuckles on the other wing. Tails and Amy, however, they were squealing on how they got Sonic to agree to stay at least one week at their home.

Sonic was used to all of the squealing. Whenever he was still with his family, he remembered being the center of attention thanks to his speed. He got Manic jealous and Sonia wanting to rip his throat out.

Mainly, he was looking at the water below them. He was never a fan of water. Thank Chaos that whenever he had a water-related adventure that someone else was there that knew how to swim in case he slipped and fell. Anyone who knows about him knows that he's useless underwater.

He still doesn't know how he managed to defeat Perfect Chaos. Perfect Chaos was a being made of water, his biggest fear. He doesn't know how he didn't have a panic attack and lose, but he didn't, thank god.

Fleetway was rambling in his head about how if he gets attached to the three that Fleetway would kill them. He also talked about how he's the better half and how Sonic is weak and will never be able to save the world.

Sonic tried his best to ignore the taunting and try and have a good day. After all, it's only one week, and no more than that. He's not gonna get attached. He didn't with anyone else. Not that anyone else was around long enough for him to get way too attached to anyways...

"Hey, we're here! Green Hill!" said Tails, interrupting Sonic's train of thoughts. "Hey, drop me off at Angel Island over there, will ya?" asked Knuckles. "Sure!" giggled Tails. After they dropped the red echidna off, they went to Green Hill.

Any bitterness that Sonic had quickly turned into amazement as soon as he got off. "Whoa! You live here?" asked Sonic. He hadn't seen a view like this before. His home was nothing like Amy and Tails's.

His home is a cave that has everything he would need- food, water, comics and television that he totally didn't steal, and... yeah, just about it. It's empty. Sure, sometimes it gets lonely. But Sonic knows he's not alone. Literally.

"Okay, I have to admit... I'm impressed. When I rule the world, I want to live here." said Fleetway in Sonic's head as he took in the surroundings. Never gonna happen! retorted Sonic. "Oh COME ON, you're no fun." grumbled Fleetway.

"Yeah, we live here! Why?" answered Amy. She chuckled seeing the hero's amazement. Sonic turned towards her. "I don't really get these types of views from where I come from. Man, this is breathtaking. You are so lucky!" said Sonic.

"I know right? Green Hills is a beautiful place, where there's lots of things you can do to have fun! Where do you live, Sonic?" asked Tails. Sonic froze. He remembered how they reacted about him being alone for four years. Who knows how they'd react when he revealed that he lived in an empty cave?

"Uhhhh..." started Sonic. "A-Anyway! What can you do here?" He asked, changing the subject. Amy tilted her head, confused of why Sonic avoided the question, but Tails ignored it. "Follow me!" said Tails.

"I'll go home. You two have fun, boys!" giggled Amy as she ran off. "Come on, Sonic!" said Tails, already in front of the blue blur. His tails were spinning. "Did your butt just turn into a helicopter?" asked Sonic, tilting his head of confusion and pointing at the two-tailed fox.

Tails burst into laughter. "Ha! A buttcopter! Only Sonic the Hedgehog could come up with that!" replied Tails. Sonic smiled as he continued laughing and giggling. "Usually, I'd challenge you to a race, but I don't know where we're going."

Tails landed, grabbed Sonic's hands, and flew up. "Whoa!" said Sonic. "Have you ever flown before?" asked Tails. "Oh, yeah, on many occasions." answered Sonic. He recalled those times when he'd come to check on Silver and Blaze and he and Silver would fly around Crisis City.

"Great! Hang on!" said Tails. "Like I have a choice!!" replied Sonic through gritted teeth, trying to ignore Fleetway's laughing. They flew through Green Hill, and arrived at some sort of lab.

"Is this your's?" asked Sonic as they landed. "Yeah! I make some pretty nice stuff here!" answered Tails as he punched in the code and the door opened. Sonic took a look around Tails's lab as Tails watched.

"So? Do you like it?" asked Tails. "If it answers your question, you're 2x the genius Eggman could ever be. He's smart, but I don't think I've seen anything like this in his lair when I'm not destroying it, which is rare. Nice, buddy!" praised Sonic, giving Tails a thumbs up.

Tails smiled brightly. "You were my inspiration to do this. Science is dangerous, and once I was too scared to do it. But then I saw you on the news, and realized I could be brave, just like you!" explained Tails.

"I think you're the first person I inspired. All those other people back at station square claim they're my number one fan, or...ew." cringed Sonic, shaking his head rapidly. "Well, Amy has a secret crush on you." revealed Tails.

Sonic stared at him. "You're serious, right? I know a lot of girls have crushes on me. I just accepted to live with one of those girls for a week? What have I done?" asked Sonic. Tails burst into laughter at Sonic's pout.

Sonic joined in. After their laughter died down, Tails continued. "Knuckles was just a guardian of the Master Emerald before we knew about you. He felt he had to stay at Angel Island, until you came on the news in Angel Island. You not only inspired me, but him as well."

"And Amy?" asked Sonic. Honestly, he was flattered by Tails's words. He never inspired someone to be brave before, believe it or not. He knows he inspired Shadow to murder him as seen a few hours ago when Infinite attacked.

"She was just a regular girl before you came along. Then she was inspired to be a hero. She met me, and we met Knuckles. Without you, I don't think anyone would be the way we are. We owe you a lot, Sonic. That's why we saved your life when Infinite attacked." explained Tails.

"Well, you're all doing way past cool. I think you make quite the team." added Sonic. Tails hugged Sonic, surprising the azure hero. Sonic hugged back. He showed doubt as he Fleetway laughing maniacally, planning to kill the trio.
