Chapter 9: Day Seven

"Sonic?!?"

Tails called out Sonic's name as they searched in Green Hills. It was completely destroyed. No food, no water, no animals. That's it- the golden hedgehog definitely possessed him. No doubt about it. Sonic would NEVER do it intentionally, not even if his life itself depended on it.

"Sonic!!!!" shouted Amy, but WAY longer. "SONIC!!" shouted Knuckles near the loop-de-loops. "SOOOOONIIIIICCCCCC!!!!" cried Tails. Tails sighed and landed in front of Amy and Knuckles. "No sign of—"

Suddenly a bird landed on the ground bloody and killed. Amy was horrified and Knuckles gasped. Amy looked up and saw the same golden hedgehog from earlier. She growled. Sonic would never do that to someone. This hedgehog IS possessing him.

"Allow me to introduce myself," he said, smirking as he landed next to the bird, stepping on it and throwing it to the side. "I am Fleetway Super Sonic, or call me just Fleetway, or Super. I took over Sonic's body."

"Why? What do you want, Super? Power? Vengeance? What do you want with Sonic?" asked Amy furiously. Fleetway smiled widely.

"I want to kill you, to break Sonic's heart. He cares for you guys so much. It would make him mentally powerless if anything happened to you. He would lose inspiration to fight and I would be free! Muahahaha!" He laughed.

"What do you mean?..." asked Tails, his ears flattening. "Why do you think he's a lone hero? ME. I killed his entire family! I even killed his adoptive mother, Longclaw! I ensured that he would be alone, forever, by killing the ones he cares for most!"

"Y-You're a monster," shivered Amy. "No, you brought the monster." He smirked.

"Sonic, we know you're still in there," said Tails, approaching him. "We don't wanna hurt you. We KNOW you don't wanna hurt us."

"Okay, here is Mr. 'No Fun'," groaned Fleetway, punching Tails. "Hey, no one bullies Tails!" growled Knuckles furiously, charging at Fleetway, trying to punch him, but he was too fast and Fleetway kicked him, sending him flying.

"H-How!? This guy is a billion times more powerful than Sonic! No wonder Sonic was so afraid to come with us!" realized Knuckles. Fleetway chuckled evilly. "That's right. I'm going to make him alone again. Im going to kill all of his friends... starting with YOU."

Tails flattened his ears and Amy drooped hers as Knuckles was knocked out. Fleetway was about to deliver the final blow when Tails interrupted. "Wait, Sonic!" Fleetway hummed as he turned his head to the fox, glaring at him and the pink hedgehog angrily.

"We realize it now. You were scared to come with us, because you wanted to protect us. Fleetway killed your entire family, and you have never forgave yourself. You isolated yourself to protect us." said Tails.

"But you didn't realize that you never had to go it alone. You could've had friends to be there for you, to help you. You're our inspiration, and we believe in you, Sonic. We wanna help you. Please, fight Fleetway! We know you don't wanna hurt us! Fight Fleetway! You've done it before, you can do it again! Fight Fleetway!" encouraged Amy.

Fleetway chuckled. "You REALLY think that Sonic could ever pr—" he started, walking towards the two. Then, he screeched painfully and loudly. He grabbed his neck and stumbled a little bit. Tails and Amy smiled.

"That's it, Sonic! Fight it; you can do it! We KNOW you can! We'll never give up on you! Ever!" said Tails. Refusing to make eye contact, Fleetway continued screaming in pain and agony. His fur changed from golden to azure and back again as he struggled with his intentions.

"That's it Sonic! You still have love to share with this world!" Amy smiled wider. "We want you to see the hero we become. Ever since the first day we met you, YOU were our inspiration. You inspired us to be brave, to be heroes!" added Tails.
