"Sonic! Pssst, Sonic? Sonic!!"

Tails woke up the sleeping blue hedgehog, who fell off the roof in fright. Tails grabbed him before he could hit the floor. "What the heck, Tails!? I was on THE ROOF! What were you thinking?!" asked Sonic, glaring at the Fox who landed gently onto the floor.

"Sorry I startled you, Sonic," said the fox sheepishly, rubbing his neck. "Well, what was the need to wake me up at..." Sonic paused to check the time. "4:00 in the morning?! Are you kidding me Tails? The sun hasn't even risen."

"Hey, hey! Before you kill me, I was wondering if we could hang out today with the others." revealed Tails. "Tails, I'm always happy to hang out with you guys, but...4:00 am!?" asked Sonic.

"I thought Sonic the Hedgehog gets up bright and early," said Tails. "No, no. I'm just like all of you. I need sleep. I haven't got that because a certain evil form you kept woke me up!" said Sonic. He whispered those italic parts so Tails couldn't hear.

"Amy insisted! I said that we shouldn't wake you up, but Amy was stubborn today." said Tails. "Since it's Amy and I don't wanna get sued, fine." sighed Sonic in defeat, putting his hands up in an I-give-up position.

Tails giggled and flew up to grab Sonic's hands. He did and they flew away to meet the others. Before he knew it, he was being dragged by Amy someplace where they didn't tell him. They arrived on a mountain.

"So, what's so special about this place?" asked Sonic as they all sat down next to each other. "You'll see," answered Amy. After two hours of complete boredom, Tails woke Sonic up. "Hey, Sonic!" said Tails.

"AGAIN?!" asked Sonic furiously. "Yeah, again. Look!" said Tails. Sonic looked towards the direction Tails was pointing, and his annoyance turned into amazement. "The sunrise. You woke me up to see the sunrise?"

"Yep! We all do it together everyday. Today, we decided to do it with you. Have you ever done it before?" asked Tails. "No," answered Sonic. Almost all of his life, he's been dealing with Fleetway and stopping Eggman. He never got a time to relax like this with other people.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" said Amy. "Yeah, it is," agreed Sonic. They stayed like that for a few long moments until the sun was completely up. "Thanks for this, guys. I appreciate it."

"No problem. It's what friends do, right?" asked Tails as they got up. Sonic looked at them and smiled. "Yeah. Friends." He agreed. For a moment, he forgot about Fleetway. About all of the troubles he'd been through since he was eleven.

In that moment of time, for the first time in forever, he relaxed.
