Jimin dragged Yoongi down the street, completely missing where they'd parked his car. Yoongi let him, holding onto his hand as tightly as Jimin was. He knew they couldn't walk forever, but he wanted to let Jimin process. After a while, Yoongi tugged on Jimin gently, stopping both of them.

"Hyung," Jimin breathed out as he finally turned to him. "It doesn't matter to me."

"It does matter Jimin," Yoongi said, grateful that Hyungsik hadn't follow them.

"No it doesn't! It don't care what he says!"

"Jimin..." Yoongi said softly but the other boy just kept shaking his head, hand gripping Yoongi's too tightly. He made to walk again but Yoongi stood his ground.

"Jimin!"

"What!" He rounded on him. There was a shine in his eyes that made Yoongi's gut wrench.

"What are you doing?"

"Nothing. I'm..."

"You're running away."

"No. No. I'm not running away. I'm running with you. I'm choosing this... choosing you." His voice was low and timid and Yoongi's ached for both of them.

"I choose you, Yoongi." Jimin's voice broke at the same time Yoongi's heart did.

"You can't."

If Yoongi could describe what heartbreak looked like physically, he would paint a picture of the way Jimin's lovely face crumbled in that exact moment.

As the moon shone down on them, as the night blanketed the world, Jimin's heart stopped beating. His eyes burned with tears that he was too afraid to shed. Desperately, he searched Yoongi's face for any sign that he was joking.

"Don't you feel it too?" His voice was nothing but a whisper. "Don't you feel this pull, hyung? I like you so much and I think you like me too and I don't care about a soulmark. I don't need one to tell me how I feel. I can't explain it. I can't explain the way I'm always pulled to you, the way I've been consumed by all this. I can't explain it. I know we've only known each other for a little bit, but I like everything about you Yoongi. You're kind, you're smart, you're beautiful—"

"Jimin..."

"Tell me you don't feel it," he said louder now, nearly desperate. He didn't care. He wasn't embarrassed by his love.

Yoongi, however stayed quiet, but Jimin could see warring emotions flitting across his face like a broken film reel.

"Tell me you don't feel this too." Again, Yoongi remained silent. "You can't can you."

"I can't."

Jimin wanted to smile but he knew this wasn't something to celebrate. Not with the way Yoongi was looking at him.

"What will happen when this isn't enough, Jimin?" Yoongi asked quietly. "What will happen to me when you get tired of this, when you realize you made a mistake and that soulmark on your neck calls for someone else? What will happen to me?" Yoongi didn't realize he was crying until Jimin's soft hands went to wipe at his wet cheeks.

"It won't hyung. It can't. I'm in love with you." The conviction in his voice, more than anything was what hurt Yoongi the most. That Jimin believed his own lie.

"This won't be enough. You'll starve. When you feel that pull to Hyungsik, when your mark reminds you that you were made for him, I'll be the one left to live without you."

"That won't happen. Everything feels right when I'm around you. Everything feels better. Don't you understand? I don't care what fate says. I care about you," he said and drew closer, and closer still, until their lips were touching and then they were kissing, right there in the middle of the street. Jimin's lips insisting, devouring, and Yoongi was putty in his hands, too weak to push him away.
