Yoongi sat in the interrogation room staring blankly at the two way mirror. He looked like an apparition—sallow cheeked, dark circles, dead eyes.

There was a detective across from him pulling out CCTV stills that showed Yoongi and his father arguing in front of the convenience shop.

"So you decided that you were going to leave your boyfriend in the middle of the night and what? Go to work? Ran out of condom money?" The detective's voice was condescending, full of false laughter. Yoongi knew he was trying to rile him up.

It wouldn't work. In Yoongi's mind, only one thing kept playing and replaying, a broken record of revelations.

He's not your dad.

He's not your dad.

He's not your dad.

Yoongi's body had gone ice cold in that chamber when Sohee told him. He felt like he belonged on one of those metal tables right next to his father.

Seokyul.

Seokyul who had raised him. Who had hurt him. Who had claimed him as his son no matter how much he had hated him. Did he know? Is that why he hated him so much? The only one with answers was Sohee but Yoongi hadn't been able to say a single word to her before he was being dragged out by the police.

"Did you know he wasn't your dad? Is that why you did it, kid? Cause you were pissed at him?"

Yoongi knew he needed to just keep his mouth shut and ask for a lawyer. When he did, the cop just scoffed. "A lawyer isn't going to help you. He have you on camera." He leaned over the table and took one of Yoongi's handcuffed hands in his. "Red handed."

They had caught him.

That night, Yoongi had left the warmth of Jimin's embrace and he'd gone out looking for his father who had called him on his cell. Yoongi had gotten up, put on his shoes, put on a denim jacket, and a black beanie that did little to hide his stark white hair. Then he'd gone to meet his father where he'd demanded he give him the money he owed those assholes. His father had called him to tell him he didn't have it. He'd begged for his forgiveness. Told him to leave the city with him. That they'd make their way to someplace safe where neither would be found.

Instead of leaving with him, Yoongi spat in his face.

Desolate, Seokyul had walked away but Yoongi had followed him. Chased after him until they'd made it to a riverbank. There, they'd argued again and finally, in an act of pure rage, Yoongi had pushed his father into the river where he had drowned.
