Hobi eyed Jimin warily and Jimin knew he must look like death. He'd cried himself to sleep and when he awoke, his eyes were swollen and bloodshot. Thankfully, his boyfriend had left for class early and Jimin had pretended to be asleep still when he did.

"Did you and Hyungsik fight?" Hobi finally asked.

Jimin shook his head.

"Does your ankle hurt?"

He nodded. It really did. He didn't feel like he'd been making any progress with his healing and after everything he'd discovered yesterday...

He couldn't even think about it. He needed to get to Tuesday and get the proof he needed to confront Hyungsik. About what? He was dreading the answer. The clues were all there in front of him, but still, he needed to be one hundred percent sure.

Hobi's eyes narrowed suspiciously.. "Jimin is everything alright?" he asked. "You look awful and I swear I've never seen you so..." he sighed, worry creasing between his brows.

"I know," Jimin said, shutting his eyes tightly. Hobi deserved to know the truth as much as anyone. He'd done more than even Hyungsik had to help him recover when Jimin had first gotten to Busan, broken and discarded. It wasn't an understatement when Jimin said Hobi had saved his life.

"Listen, I'm trying to figure some things out and when I do, I swear you'll be the first one to know."

It was obvious that Hoseok wanted to probe more, but thankfully, he simply nodded, trusting Jimin.

When Hobi was gone, Jimin climbed back into bed to wallow. It was stupid wasn't it? To think that because Yoongi had finally gotten a soulmark, now was when Jimin stood no chance. He felt filthy even thinking about it. All this time they'd both had different soulmates and still, he felt that inevitable, impossible tug towards him.

Did Yoongi know who his soulmate was? Were they that much better than Jimin that fate had decided to keep him away from Jimin?

He had stopped listening to Yoongi's conversation with Hobi as soon as he heard that Yoongi was bonded to someone. It had been such a punch to the gut to realize that eventually, Yoongi would end up with someone and it wouldn't be him.

But that was unfair of Jimin to even think. He was with someone else. Had been for two years.

Someone he regretted.

He sighed and rolled over in bed, thoughts scrambling his brain until it felt like static. Until the same questions played on a loop in his head.

Why had Jimin felt such a strong pull to Yoongi when they were in school together? Why did he still feel it now despite how he'd fought against it? He had literally thought they were fated at one point.

He shot up in bed.

What if...

What if Hyugnsik had lied? What if he'd somehow managed to trick Jimin and...

What if Yoongi's soulmark...

Did Yoongi know what Jimin's mark looked like? He didn't think so.

No. No, stop it Jimin ! He scolded himself. He couldn't think like that again. All he did was hurt himself. He couldn't still be hung up on someone who had always just considered him a friend. Even now, all Yoongi wanted was to be friends. Jimin could give him that. He could be normal around him. For Yoongi's sake, and his own.

Tuesday came and Jimin was a ball of sharp anxiety. Pins and needles pricked at his hands with the way he held them so tightly as he limped down the street, looking for the tattoo parlor.
