— Recap —

"It's been one breath taking battle after another! But I've got a feeling that the best is yet to come!"
One of the large lacrimatron screens suddenly focused on the interior of the library, and inside was Rufus and Gray.
Seeing as none of her other guild mates had made a big commotion yet, Sorella chose to focus her attention on this battle.
She remembered Gray's emotions of frustration towards her guild after losing in Hidden, and she wanted to know who would win.
Will Rufus remain unchallenged or will Gray overcome on top? Which maker magic wizard will prevail?
Even from this distance, Sorella could see the resolve on Gray's face for revenge, and so she knew this fight was going to last longer than the previous ones.
Of course she wanted Rufus to win, but she was intrigued by Gray's determination as he walked toward's Rufus who was reading a book in a lofty chair.

"This should be interesting, right Frosch?" She asked, and Frosch agreed.
"Yeah, Fro hopes Rufus wins..!" He stated and she pat Frosch's head.
"Me too, Frosch. Me too."

"The first Master told me you'd be here. Seems she was right," Gray glared down at Rufus as he got ready to fight.
"How interesting. You had practically vanished from my memory. Perhaps you'd care to remind me who you are?" Rufus taunted him, making no effort to close his book as he had yet to look up at the Fairy Tail wizard.
"You're gonna have a hard time forgetting me after this, cause I'm the guy who's gonna knock you out," he spat and Rufus scoffed.

This only served to irritate Gray further as he placed one fist in the palm of his hand, ready to make the first move.
"Alright you mask wearing freak! Let's rock!" Gray glared and Rufus smirked as he closed his book.
"Ice make: Freeze Lance!" Several streaks of ice all whipped towards Rufus, but only destroyed the chair he was sitting on as he jumped out of the way.
"Memorized!" Rufus claimed as he landed flawlessly on the tile floor.
"You're not getting away from this one," Gray seethed. "Ice impact!" The giant head of a lance crashed downwards where Rufus was standing, but Rufus only leaped out of the way again.
"Memorized," Rufus remained confident as he held onto his hat as he flipped in the air with ease.
"What the hell do you keep mumbling about?" Gray demanded.
"Memory is a powerful weapon," he replied.
"Huh?"
"I can commit any spell I see to memory and then make entirely new spells that are based on those spells," Rufus smugly elaborated.
"Is that so?" Gray furrowed his brows.
"For example I have memories of your ice, along with several memories of Orga's lightning," he shrugged.
"I can combine them," he added before he raised his arm over his head.
"Memory make: Sword of frozen black lightning!"
Black lightning and icicles from the floor appeared flickered and shot up at the same time, and Gray was having a hard time dodging backwards.
"Shrine of the stormy wind fang!" Rufus summoned many tornados in the library, but Gray stood his ground this time.
"Is that all you got? Ice make: shield!" Gray protected himself from Rufus' spell, however that did nothing to dissuade Rufus.
"I see. Memorized, but soon..."
Gray's shield rapidly broke down, and he was sent hurling into the large tornado that combined together with books when they reached him.
"Forgotten," Rufus smirked.

"What a move! Rufus unleashes an intense assault that leaves Gray on the floor!" Chapati commentated.
So Rufus can make his opponents forget their own spells, huh? That's impressive. Sorella hummed.

As Gray struggled to get up from the ground, Rufus slowly approached him, watching his arms shake as he tried to push himself up.
"What's the matter? As I recall, you were planning to knock me out, weren't you? Hmm," Rufus stopped a few feet away from him before looking down and summoning a book in his hands from the floor.
"What is this?" He pretended to ponder. "Oh, this is a book of Heaven's magic compendium," and more books started to float around him in a circle. "And these look to be the Tomb of the Abyss and advanced dark sorcery, yes..." Rufus paused, glancing at the content of each book he had purposely picked out.
"The secrets to subliminal percipience. Ancient witchcraft! These are most excellent discoveries!" He laughed mockingly.
