—Recap—They were now on top of a hill that used to over looking an empty clearing. Now there was a forest village brimming with life. In the centre was a large tree that towered over the rest in the forest with houses surrounding its large base. Running through the village was a stream that was connected to a waterfall on the other side. Next to it was a farm with a wheat field filled with crops and animals.
Then there were villagers who went along their day, oblivious to their arrival.
What the man said was starting to make sense, the forest was cloaking the tribe so that it was invisible. Therefore, the people living inside the village were safe from harm, such as outsiders and predators.
If they were allowed inside, that means that whatever the forest saw in them decided they were worthy to enter.
"Guess I'm not crazy after all, right?" Sorella smugly questioned the blonde and his cat, who looked shocked upon seeing the scenery in front of them.~ ~ ~ ~
As the group walked into the village, the residents stopped to stare at them and whisper. It was clear that they weren't used to outsiders coming in, and they didn't exactly have the most normal looking clothes either. However, they all ignored their suspicious gazes, there was a job to do.
She approached a woman closest to them and her eyes immediately drifted to her pointy ears.
"Excuse me, ma'am, do you know where we can-" However, before Sorella could finish her question, the woman with the pointy ears rushed away much to her astonishment."Hey, wait! Please come back!" She tried to call out to her but the woman was out of earshot.
She heard snickers next to her and she turned to give Sting the stink eye."Nice going with that. Realll impressive," he teased her and she rolled her eyes.
"Please, by all means, see if you can get someone to tell us where the Village Chief is, Sting." She scoffed."With pleasure," he smirked at her before walking up to another woman, but the woman ran away from him before he could even get a word in.
Sorella raised a brow and smiled amusedly. "Wow, you really beat me there huh?" She teased him.
"Shut it," he grumbled.Rogue rolled his eyes at their childish banter and walked up to a man who also shared the same trait as the other two women.
"Look, we're wizards from Sabertooth. We've come because your Chief requested our help. Now help us by telling us where he is," Rogue requested and the man's eyes widened.
"He's in the biggest house with the red roof," the man answered, pointing to the house in the distance.
"Let's go," Rogue said before walking towards the direction the man told them to go.
"Thank you for your cooperation," Sorella smiled as they followed behind the dark haired man.Once they arrived at the door step of the Chief's house, Sting knocked on the door three times before it opened.
"You must be those Sabertooth mages who've come to save my daughter, please come in come in." A man that looked like to be in his early forties ushered them inside his house.
"Uh, thanks," Sting said as they were all directed to sit on a couch in the living room of the house.
"My name is Brynner, I am the eighty third Chief of the Dora tribe. I must thank you for responding to the request so urgently. You don't know how relieved I was when I heard members of your guild were coming to help. It reassures me greatly that it's powerful wizards such as yourself coming to my aid," the Chief introduced himself once he sat adjacent to them on an arm chair. That was when Sorella got a better look of him, that she saw blonde locks of hair grown down to his shoulders, tied half into a pony tail. She also noticed the pointy ears which seemed to be a trait shared among the Nymphadora tribe. Upon further observation, she noticed that his complexion was pale, but it looked unnatural compared to his innate almond toned skin. His blonde hair was starting to grey at his roots, and his emerald green eyes were filled with worry.
Nothing needed to be said that his daughter's disappearance was taking a physical toll on him.
