27 | Pink or blue?

Lim was figuring out all of the crazy paperwork that was literally making her brain hurt. Finical studies were not her strong thing, and even if it was she would definitely not do it from her own sake. She heared a knock on the door, so it was a perfect argument to take a small break.

- Come in!- She said a bit louder so the person in front of the door hears her. Audrey thought it would be just a quick consult, but once she saw Asher the wish immediately popped.- Everything okay?- She asked a bit confused, when Wolke was excitingly pacing around her office.

- Oh good God, I wish I could tell you the gender!- He told her excided.

- I'm not your bestfriend right now, I'm your boss.- Audrey chuckled leaving her office with tons of paperwork files in her hands, but Wolke kept walking next to her.

- Can't we do it earlier? Please? - She stopped walking as soon as the guy said those words.

- You should be happy I even let you do this God damn party. Now just please, focus on your work. We can have this conversation later..- Audrey tried to keep herself calm and steady, but everything felt like taking her out of control beacuse of the pregnancy hormones. Gladly, Asher left her side knowing that it would be dangerous to keep nagging her about the party later tonight.

Lim left most of the paperwork at the nurses station, trying to remember what she had to do next. The pregnancy brain fog was huge, she could stand in one place for ten minutes not managing to figure out what she wanted to do. It often left her frustrated, and this time wasn't different. She exhaled slowly resting her forearm on the furniture, when closing her eyes. Her mind was rushing with thoughts, even when she wanted everything to slow down, it practically never worked ( unless Neil is around ).

- Mi amor? You alright?- Audrey suddenly heard his soft voice behind her, as he wraps his arms around her waist managing to secretly put his hand on her slightly swollen abdomen.

- Yeah just..You know me, I can't get anything done these days, and I've never been like that!- She was obviously stressed out about not feeling like her usual self, which was understandable in her position. Audrey was always expected to be perfect at what she does, resilient, powerful. So she just went with it for the most of her life, and now every minor inconvenience or a sudden situation makes her feel at an extreme unease.
- Sorry..- She raised her sight at his face, seeing his teasing smirk.- Not only the MRI's are all messed up, Wolke has been licking my ass about moving the party..- She knew Neil will joke around and mock her as he always do, since he kept staring at her with that goofy smile of his.- Oh Neil come on..- She managed to playfully hit his arm, and spoke with a voice tone little louder than a whisper.- You're making the pregnant woman fraustared, you better run for your life..- It made Neil chuckle instantly, he just couldnt help it. Seeing her so cutely fraustared always turned him soft, even if it ended up with the hormones talking argument.

- I'll see you home, chief..- He joked around giving her a final kiss on the cheek and walked away, as Lim shook her head with a soft smile on her face.

Damn she really has to get ready for the shower.

She quickly checked the clock, and added a stressed exhale. Audrey decided that if she wanted to get things ready in time she obviously has to end her shift early. When she got to the lockeroom and left her stuff in there, again she heard a known voice, which made her turn around. It was Dr.Reznick, with a small smile on her face.

- Why the hell aren't you home getting ready for the shower? - The blonde opened her locker.

- We both know I didnt want the party anyways, but seeing Neil so happy..It's cute.- She smiled imagining his reaction.- And Asher did literally everything, I just have to change.- The dark eyed changed the subject.- Wait, why are you here than? You take hours and hours to get ready for work, not talking about a patry!- She giggled, closing her locker using a small key.

- Do not change the subject pregnant lady.- Morgan obviously teased her as always, she was just that type of person, and everyone was used to it.

- See ya in a few..- Audrey chuckled, as she made her way out of the hospital to the parking lot, where her adjusted car was parked. She sat down in the black SUV type of car, putting her bag down on the passenger seat. Driving with the use of her hands made her feel reassured, beacuse obviously she could drive using normal pedals, but she didn't feel strong enough about the strength of her leg muscles. The soft tones from the radio was occasionally heard, but Audrey didn't even pay attention to it.

As she drove into their garage, and walked into their apartment, everything was so gorgeously decorated. Not over the top, just like she woild repeatedly ask Asher, she didn't think he would even listen. She looked around the living room, with a soft smile on her face, unconsciously placing her skinny hand on her stomach.

- Pretty isn't it?- Her thoughts were interrupted with Melendez's soft tone of voice.- Thank God we don't have literal drag queens dancing around the living room.- He chuckled, and so did Audrey.

- Oh God..- She giggled resting her head back at his shoulder.- I gotta get ready, you think a single pink something in my hair will be enough? I don't want to look like a unicorn puked on me.- She put her hair up into a loose ponytail.

- You will look perfectly fine sweetie..- Neil giggled kissing her cheek softly.

Everyone came dressed in either pink or blue, Audrey had a black dress on, with a small hand made pink ribbon in her hair, and Neil had a pink button up shirt on. Asher brought a white plain cake, so they can cut into it which will reveal the gender.

- Hey..- Lim smiled once she saw Morgan walk in, which was followed by a soft hug.- I'm so glad you made it.

- Of course! I wouldnt miss Neils disappointed face seeing blue in the cake.- She teased playfully hitting her arm. Audrey sighed.

- Not you too, come on he's so excited, it's adorable. And you know what? I think it's going to be a girl too.- She rolled her eyes, when Asher got closer to them.

- Come on girl, Neil is over the moon already. I don't want him to pass out.- Lim chuckled and went to the love of her life, which followed by soft kiss on the cheek. Neil handed her a small glass that they will stick into the cake.

- Ready?- Audrey was a little nervous, but she smiled with a blush and nodded. Obviously Asher was recording the whole thing, as usual.

They both held the glass and used a bit of strength to get it inside the cake while they gave each other a kiss on the lips. As they felt it slide into the cake all the way, they stopped the kiss and looked in each others eyes, as slowly getting the cup up. The color of the pastry inside was..

PINK!!

Audrey immediately began to tear up as she saq their baby was a girl, Neil had a huge grin on his face as he picked her up and warmly kissed on the lips. It's almost like every yell and congratulations from everyone around was silent. It was only them and their baby girl.

- You were right..- Audrey giggled still crying, she was a high hormone mess. Neil melted at the sight of her cute vulnerability, and pulled her into his chest, leaving a kiss on her head.

- Hell yeah I was mi amor..- He whispered not letting go of the hug.- Hell yeah I was..
