30 | Suitcases and coffees

Audrey couldn't look at Glassman at work knowing what her mom told her just a few days ago, she had an actual desire to kick him right in the ass. Not to mention the pregnancy exhaustion that took over out of nowhere. She rubs her eyes taking off her work glasses since she's been doing paperwork for
the last hour.

Neil on the other hand didn't care about work today, he had spend the whole morning planning how to tell her on the trip to Taiwan. He had a feeling she would be a ray of sunshine since Audrey haven't been back in Taiwan for years. Of course he took care of his patients, but answering Shauns annoying questions wasn't on his to do list today.
Even though he tried not to fall asleep throughout the whole day of work, since packing their bags to China at night, it was worth it imagining Audrey being incredibly happy..

It wasn't long until he heard the front door open up, as Audrey's steps filled out the room.

- I'm home!- She said loud enough for him to hear.

- Hey!- He appeared in the hallway so quickly, mainly so she doesn't see the bags in the living room.- How are you feelin'?- Neil helped her with the coat off like he always does, which continued with a kiss on the lip.

- Exhausted. Emotionally drained.- Audrey made a statement half joke half serious, but smiled seeing his face.- But I'm glad to be home finally..the mini you has been kicking me all day long.- She huffs kissing him, getting one of her palms on her slightly round stomach. No one at worked noticed any change in her appearance. If someone didn't know, they wouldn't know.

- That's my girl.- He grins teasingly adding his hand on top of his.- How's the nasuea? A tiny bit better?- He tried to act nonchalant as they walk into the living room.

- It was until the meds came off— - Audrey was cut in surprise seeing a few suitcases on the floor.- What is this?- She chuckled not thinking much of it at first.- Are we moving and you didn't tell me?- She teased looking at him with a confused expression.

- Well, since your birthday came up and we didn't have time to celebrate, I thought I should make you a little gift.- He smiled lovingly.

- I told you I hate birthday gifts..- She was so greatful but rolled her eyes as a joke.- Are we escaping from my mom getting to San Jose or what?

- We are going to Taiwan.- He said with a slight blush on his cheeks, which he didn't realized he had. Audrey froze, not in a bad way obviously. Going back to Taiwan was on her bucket list for years since she moved out.

- Are you serious?..- She asks a bit unsure at first, but the pure excitement appears on her face once Melendez approved nodding his head.- We are going to Taiwan?- She asked again making sure once again as a huge smile covered her face.

- Yes we are honey..- He giggled himself seeing her adorable reaction, Audrey immeditely went in for a hug.

- Thank you, thank you, thank you!- She kept repeating jumping up and down holding him by the shoulders.- When are we going?- She kept smiling.

- Tomorrow morning.- He admitted and bursted out laughing seeing her jaw dropping.- Don't worry, I got everything covered. You don't have to overthink it, just rest and take care of yourself and our baby girl. Deal?- He rubbed her cheek calmingly. Audrey took a deep breath before answering to calm her nerves down.

- Deal..- She couldn't help but grin at the thought.- My God you're the best!- She squaked kissing him deeply, her hands ending on his cheeks.

- I love you too..- He kissed her back grinning.- Relax, take a warm bath and just rest your body please.- He knew her like the back of his hand, he knew she will never less until someone physically makes her do it.

- Okay, dad.- She rolls her eyes before kissing him once again.

5:13 IN THE MORNING

Audrey mumbled half asleep as she heard Neils alarm go off. Her night was far from peaceful, from having to pace around for a whole around because of the constant kicking on her rib to throwing up in the bathroom. Obviously Melendez helped her through it so they were both sleep deprived.

- It's okay..- He whispered placing a kiss on her temple quickly turning it off.- How are you holding up?- He kept his voice low not to startle her.

- Nasueated..- She whimpered as her hands shook, her throwing up came with high blood pressure and heartbeat.

- I'm gonna get everything ready for the airport and wake you up in like 15 minutes alright darling?- He said calmly getting her hair out of her face.

- Mhm..- She hid her face deeper under the sheets. Audrey was definitely not a morning person, especially when pregnant, since she's been throwing up every night. Neil just chuckled under his breath and got their passports and tickets ready, brewing coffee in between.

Everything was in one place so there's no searching around the house, since it overwhelms Audrey pretty quickly every single time. He was just about to walk back into the bedroom when Audrey stepped out of it, her hair loose in waves, her oversized shirt embracing her slowly forming bump a tiny bit.

- Aw hello sleepyhead..- He chuckled pulling her close and kissing her on the forehead. Audrey smiled still a bit asleep.

- God, the pregnancy makes me feel like complete shit. I've never had that much issues waking up.- She said while rubbing her eyes, but the small grin wouldn't escape her lips as she felt Melendez softly rubbing the side of her stomach.

- Honey you have to give yourself some credit..you're literally forming a human inside of you.- He hands her the coffee that he made decaf especially for her.

- I would much rather give myself credit for doing a surgery..- She rolls her eyes resting her head on the wall, before speaking up.- Thank you, for taking care of everything. You know me so well..-

- Yes I do you silly..- He grins kissing her, and than bump hugging her from behind so her lower back rests a little.

This trip is going to be amazing.
