amelie flood x sam golbach
chapter forty-eight || 🎬🤍🦢Amelie had come to hate walking into Sam's house because every time she did she ran into Callum. Even after giving Sam the green light of being friends with him, she still hated seeing the two of them interact.
Sam had been weary at first, but upon her flashing him a massive smile and a hundred confirmations that she really didn't care, he let it go and started interacting with the man which slowly turned into Amelie now sitting in front of him.
She stared at the man who stared right back at her, unmoving to avoid her gaze. Amelie had a nervous pit in her stomach, but she wasn't willing to let him ruin her night. It would be silly. Especially with the fact he had said many times throughout the past several weeks that he only wanted to be her friend and that he didn't want nor expect anything from her.
If she hated him any more, she would kill him.
Hating herself a little more, Amelie's eyes drifted away from Callum and found the blond she was ever so fond of walk into the kitchen with a girl with neon pink hair. Her smile faltered for a moment until Sam walked straight over to where she was upon the counter.
"Hi!" She smiled down at him.
"Hey." Sam breathed out before turning towards the girl now leaning on the island beside Colby, "This is, uh, Katrina."
Amelie's eyebrows shot up. Carmen sent her friend a look of confusion, to which Amelie frantically looked between Sam and Katrina. A second later Carmen matched the girls expression.
"This is amazing!" Carmen giggled, kicking her feet onto Callum's seat, making the boy roll his eyes and push her off. She sent him an icy glare, "I still don't like you." She spat, "I will slap the shit out of you."
"Shut up, Carmen." He shook his head as her vans kicked at his thigh unapologetically.
Sam took a deep breath, he wasn't sure how deep their hatred for each other went, and he didn't think he wanted to either, "This is Carmen, Callum and... Amelie."
Amelie gave her a massive smile which she quickly returned.
"Ignore him." Carmen said pointing at her one true enemy, "He's not even here."
Callum laughed, "You know with the time you spend insulting me some might say it's flirting."
Carmen audibly gagged as Amelie's smile dropped. What a little bitch, she thought.
"I'm not into your kind." Carm smiled sweetly at him.
He narrowed his eyes, "My kind?"
"Cheaters." She spat and the whole rooms gasped, except Amelie. She may have let a little laugh out, but stopped once she looked down to see Sam staring at her with wide eyes.
"Okay!" Colby clapped, walking over to the girl and placing his hands on her shoulders, "Never a dull moment when Carmens around!"
Carmen smiled smugly and Amelie had to cover her mouth as to not laugh.
"I'm gonna go do what I'm here to do and then dip." Katrina smiled and then awkwardly backed out of the kitchen.
Once the girl was out of earshot Amelie burst out laughing and Colby shook his head in disbelief, "You two—" Sam pointed to the two old friends sat side by side, "Be nice to each other."
"Yeah, be nice to each other." Amelie repeated in a less serious tone, "No, but, like... Come on. You scared that poor girl, Carmen. And you do not aggravate her. Flirting? Really? Someone desperate wouldn't even flirt with you. Respectfully of course."
Sam placed a hand on her knee and gave her a look, "Too much?" She whispered so into he could hear.
He nodded, "Maybe a little."
"You two haven't changed have you?" Callum asked, his voice rich in humour, showing that he didn't take any of their words to heart, which made Amelie slightly more happy than she'd like to admit.
Carmen shrugged, "You know me." She said, quoting Amelie's favourite line.
"Unfortunately." He muttered, scrolling on his phone.
Carmens face dropped and she slapped the back of his head. Hard.
"That's enough." Colby yelled, grabbing Carmen and pulling her up and dragging her out of the room.
She put up a huge fight, but as she was being pulled up the stairs her voice echoed through the house, "You're so pretty. Oh, my God. How does Sam pull these women?!"
Sam sighed loudly.
Katrina came down the stairs laughing, her cheeks flushed, "She's a character."
"She's amazing." Amelie smiled lovingly.
"She seems it." Kat laughed, "Um, I don't know if this is, like, weird, but me and my friend Stas are going out tomorrow night and you and Carmen should come. I feel like Stas would like you two."
"Oh, em gee. Yes." Amelie cheered, jumping down from the counter and walking over to the girl, "I will give you my number."
"Do you want to just walk me to my car?"
"Uhhhh. Yes!"
The two walked out giggling with each other and Sam stared at them in horror.
When the front door closed shut, Callum burst out laughing, "Oh, brother... You're fucked."
Sam ran a hand through his hair, "Yeah."
