amelie flood x sam golbach
chapter fifty-two || 🎬🤍🦢
Amelie Flood did in fact not get the guy. In fact, the guy had been not so subtly ignoring her, and Amelie finally got his frustration from January. Except then they hadn't spoken for three and a half weeks... it had only been three days since Amelie got home and three days since she last heard from him.The first two days, she blamed on being busy and hungover, but the second day three hit Amelie was reminded of how little patience she had in her body.
Amelie opened the door to Sam's bedroom when she didn't find him hanging around the house. She knew he was home as she had asked Colby who barely sent her a glance as he pushed past her to leave the house.
"You." She shouted when she threw the door open to see Sam sitting on his bed, unaware of what she was about to throw at him. He had headphones over one of his ears, and he was hunched over his computer. Amelie guessed he was editing a video, but why he wasn't at his desk was beyond her.
Sam jumped, knocking his headphones from his head and looking at her with panicked eyes, "Amelie?"
"No, I'm the Pope." She narrowed her eyes as she stepped further into the room.
"What— What are you doing here?"
Amelie cocked her head to the side slightly. It wasn't surprising she was here, she often walked on unannounced, just like he did to her house, "I'm here to talk to you— obviously."
"Oh."
Oh? She'd kill him if she could get away with it.
"You don't have to say anything by the way. I'm just gonna... pour my heart out and then you can decide if you want to answer." She smiled weakly at him, making his confusion ten times worse.
He let out a nervous laugh, "You're scaring me, Mellie." He said, walking towards her.
The closer he got, the more Amelie's nerves rose.
"It's nothing bad!" She defended, "I don't think. God, I hope not." She mumbled mostly to herself.
Amelie had thousands of words she wanted to say, but no idea how to get them out of her mouth. The past four months have been nothing but great pain when it came to Sam Golbach. She couldn't look at him without every emotion she could possibly think about coming to the surface. How he had weaselled his way into her heart was beyond her comprehension, but somehow he did.
She let out a shaky sigh before starting, "You said you didn't know where you stood with me, but I want you to know that you stand in front of me, one top... Number one. Always. I want you to— I want you to stand next to me—"
"Literally?" He asked stupidly.
"Not literally!" She cried out, not even releasing she felt the need to cry, but somehow the tears had formed and his 'stupid' question made them fall, "I'm sick and tired of this back and forth thing where one day we're basically strangers and then the next we're more or less together, but we're not! I don't know how this thing started, but everything is too hard now. And it shouldn't be because we're both adults capable of talking. But I want this." She motioned between them, staring into his eyes, unable to look away, "I want you. I want you to do the cringy first date bullshit that you know I love. I want you, Sam. I don't want to do shit with anyone else because there is no one else. Not when you showed up. Everyone else just... vanished and I was sucked into this world of Sam Golbach."
Sam stared at her in shock. This was everything he had been wanting for weeks and yet... nothing. He had the girl of his dreams standing in front of him, saying everything he wanted to hear, but he couldn't say anything. The words weren't forming and not because he was shocked because he was about to give Amelie her worst nightmare.
"Ams..." Sam whispered, his voice cracking as he did so. He watched as the girl's bottom lip wobbled, "I don't think this is a good idea."
"What?" She croaked out, "I'm— I'm giving you what you wanted, no?"
"I just don't think that we should—"
Amelie shook her head, furiously wiping he'd fallen tears from her cheek, "I'm just gonna go." She pointed behind her and practically sped walk towards the hall door.
"Amelie!" He called out several times, following closely behind her. When he caught up to her, he grabbed her arm and spun her around, "Please don't go."
"No,"
"Amelie, please." He begged and Amelie shook her head.
"No, you said you wouldn't wait forever and I get that. And if this is you not waiting forever then I can respect it, but I think it's best if I leave."
"No, no, no. Please don't leave." He blew out a shaky laugh. He held onto the side of her face, trying to defuse the situation but they were too far gone.
She melted underneath his touch for a split second before grabbing hold of his wrists and pushing him away. She wiped under her eyes, "Just, uh... Just think about it. Don't say no so soon."
He tried to call after her again, but the front door had already been closed.
