THE RIVERSIDE

Jeongguk uses his crutches, making his way towards a tranquil spot by the river, with Lisa trailing behind him.

As they reached the riverbank, they both stood in awe of the serene beauty before them.

The riverbank, nestled behind the hospital, offered a peaceful retreat from the bustle of the medical facility.

As they stood shoulder to shoulder, Lisa stole a glance at Jeongguk, struck by his commanding presence as she turned towards him.

Their eyes met, and Jeongguk offered her a warm smile in return.

"How did you stumble upon this place?" Lisa inquired, her curiosity piqued.

Jeongguk let out a contented sigh. "I noticed it from my room. Thought it would be a nice spot for us to hang out, but I missed having you around yesterday."

Lisa couldn't help but grin, charmed by his candor. "Sorry," she quipped, before returning her gaze to the tranquil river.

Jeongguk stole a glance at Lisa, then back at the river, and then at Lisa again.

Caught in the act, he met her gaze with a sheepish smile. "What are you doing? Are trying to have a staring contest with me?" she teased.

Jeongguk chuckled, a hint of mischief twinkling in his eyes as he shrugged playfully. "Maybe I am. But I have to warn you, I'm pretty good at it," he teased back, his smile widening.

Lisa rolled her eyes, a playful grin tugging at her lips. "Oh, is that so? Well, we'll just have to see about that," she replied, her competitive spirit rising.

With a laugh, they turned their attention back to the river, enjoying each other's company in the peaceful serenity.

Jeongguk cleared his throat, a thoughtful expression crossing his features as he glanced at Lisa. "Lisa," he called. "Do you have someone special in your life?" he inquired, his tone casual but curious.

Lisa's smile faltered slightly at the question, caught off guard by the sudden shift in conversation.

She hesitated for a moment before responding, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "Uh, well, not at the moment. I've been pretty focused on work and family lately," she admitted, her gaze drifting to the rippling waters of the river.

Jeongguk nodded understandingly. "I see. It can be tough to find the time for relationships, especially with a busy schedule like yours," he remarked, his tone gentle.

"Yeah, it definitely has its challenges," Lisa agreed with a small sigh, her thoughts drifting momentarily to her complicated situation with Taehyun.

Jeongguk couldn't help but feel a twinge of relief upon hearing Lisa's response.
