SKY'S BLESSING

It was the first month of September, and Lisa sat on the couch, gently rubbing her swollen belly and feeling the baby's movements inside her.

She had taken time off work a few weeks ago, knowing that she needed to focus on resting and preparing for the baby's arrival.

But today, like many other days recently, her thoughts were consumed by the absence of Jeongguk's letters.

It had been a month since she last heard from him. Each day, she eagerly checked the mailbox, hoping for a letter from him, but each time she was met with disappointment.

She tried to tell herself that he was just busy with his duties, but as the days stretched into weeks, her anxiety grew.

Her belly had grown significantly, and with each passing day, the reality of the baby's arrival loomed closer.

She missed Jeongguk terribly and wanted nothing more than to share this experience with him, to have him by her side as they prepared to become parents.

Lisa sighed, leaning back into the couch cushions, trying to hold back the tears that threatened to spill over.

She knew she needed to stay strong, for herself and the baby, but the uncertainty was eating away at her.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing thoughts, hoping that soon, there would be a letter, or better yet, a message that Jeongguk was on his way home.

Days passed, and Lisa was in the hospital, her contractions intensifying.

The sterile room was filled with the quiet hum of medical equipment and the occasional shuffle of nurses.

Mrs Jung sat by her side, her presence as calming as Lisa's labour progressed.

Lisa gripped the edge of her bed, her breaths coming in quick, measured gasps. Mrs. Jung offered sips of water and soothing words, her hands gently massaging Lisa's shoulders.

Now and then, she would check the clock, worry and anticipation in her eyes.

As Lisa's contractions grew more intense, she looked up at her mother, her face flushed with effort. "Mom, it hurts so much," Lisa said between breaths, her voice trembling.

Mrs. Jung brushed a strand of hair from Lisa's forehead. "You can do it, Lisa. You're doing great."

The labour seemed endless, but with each passing moment, Lisa grew stronger.

As the pain reached its peak, Lisa's breathing quickened, and she could barely focus on anything other than the overwhelming sensations.

Suddenly, the atmosphere in the room shifted as Lisa's body began the final stages of delivery.
