Chapter 15- I'm sorry

Continued....

The doctor comes out of the surgery room looking at the two in front of him. "How is he Doctor?" Way asks before Charlie can even open his mouth, Well the surgery went well and he is stable but still unconscious and will be for a bit. Charlie sighs in relief, "How long is a bit?" Charlie asks the doctor. "Well due to blood loss it may be a days or weeks but hopefully tomorrow he may be wake." Way nods felling a bit better, " Can we see him?" Way questions looking into the Doctors eyes as well as Charlie who is also waiting for an answer. "Yes you can. But warning he is connected to a lot of machines so make sure not to touch them" the doctor answers before opening the door for them.

Charlie runs in and goes to his boyfriends side quickly, Charlie looking at Babes lifeless body feeling guilty. Way sits on the other side of Babe resting is arm on Babes leg. "I'm sorry" Charlie whimpers as he starts to sobs, Way notices this and goes around to Charlie putting a hand on his shoulder even though they do not get along well. "He is gonna be fine Charlie. Babe is strong" Charlie sobs louder hearing this making Way feel bad. Charlie leaves soft kisses on Babes hand before wiping his tears away, " Where are the twins?" Way asks trying to lighten up the mood, "they are with P'Alan and Jeff." Charlie sniffles. "I will stay with him. You have kids to go to" Way adds looking at Charlie, "Your right. But can I stay a little longer?" Charlie turns looking at Way with sympathetic eyes. "Of course." Way answers then sits down on the chair in the corner of the room, after a bit Charlie gets a call from Jeff. Charlie gets up as he needs to go now, "Way. You will stay with him right?" Charlie asks as he goes to the door. "Yes. I will till he wakes up" Way replies reassuring Charlie, Charlie nods before leaving looking at Babe one more time.

That night Way goes into the hospital bathroom and cleans up a bit, the floor is dead silent which makes Way hear the machines Babe is connected to even louder. Way sighs as he lays on the guest couch in the room then goes to watch his phone for a bit too a hundred miss messages.
Alan: What happened?!?
Jeff: Are you guys okay???
Kim: What happened to Babe?
Kenta : Did you find Tony's men?
Sonic: I heard what happened you good?
Pete: Where are you???
Way opens his phone and replies to Pete's messages, "Babe is in the hospital. I'm staying with him" Way texts before closing his phone. He looks at Babe one more time before falling asleep before he is exhausted.

That morning...
Way wakes up to the whole team in the room, "Hey guys." Way comments in confusion. Alan notices Way and walks up to him, "What the fuck Way. How could this happen?! And why didn't you answer my texts" Alan scolds Way who is still half asleep. Jeff calms Alan down who is just worried about Babe, "I'm sorry but Babe did kill the guy." Way adds then gets up off the couch. Kim and Kenta look at Way as he says this, "He did?" Kenta says looking at Babe who is laying on the hospital bed. Way nods before going to his best friends side again, "Where is Charlie?" Way asks looking at Jeff. "He is downstairs. Ayden was crying and he was being to loud" Jeff answers before adding, "Poor things they probably miss there mama. " Jeff gets emotional looking at Babe who is hooked up to a oxygen tube. Alan comforts Jeff, looking at Way. "Guys stop sobbing Babe will be fine. He is the greatest Pit Babe" North tries to humour the room which is filled with sadness. Jeff just smiles then pats Ways shoulder then leaves with Alan, Kenta Kim, North and Sonic follow soon after leaving it just Way and Babe until Charlie and the twins come.
After roughly 30 minutes Charlie comes up with the sleeping twins resting in his arms. "Sorry Way. They were being too hard" Charlie comments before laying the babies on the bed next to Babe, The nurse comes in after with a clipboard. "Good morning. I'm just coming to check on Babe." The Nurse mentions before untying Babe  gown checking his heart beat, "His heart rate is improving" The nurse says to Charlie who is watching the nurse to this. "His vitals have gone up. Which is good" The nurse adds before noticing the babies. "Awww. Are these your children?" The nurse looks at the two who are sleeping with their small hands close to their face. Charlie smiles and nods rubbing his thumb on Amaras cheek, "Anyway. I will let you guys go, I just want to give you good news that Babe will be awake soon so just notify me if he wakes up." The nurse mentions before leaving, "Thank you" Way thanks the nurse for the good news. "Do you want to stay with him." Way asks Charlie putting his hand on Babes leg. "Yes I will take it from here Way. Thank you" Charlie answers, "No problem I should leave anyway before Pete scolds me" Way laughs before leaving closing the door behind him.

Charlie sits on the couch cradling the twins in both arms. "I really need your Mama for this. Both of you guys together are heavy" Charlie whispers to himself out of breath. Just as Charlie finds himself comfortable and resting his eyes he is woken up by a faint voice calling his name from the other side of the room. "Babe?" Charlie immediately sits up seeing Babes eyes slightly open looking at him, "Charlie." Babe whispers. Charlie gets up and runs to Babes side still with the twins in his arms, "You scared me Babe." Charlie breaks out into tears again except this time Babe is their to wile his tears away and cradles his cheek in his hand. "I'm sorry Charlie." Babe answers sitting up making a face as the stitches onbhis stomach are still sore, "Are you okay?" Charlie asks worriedly. Babe nods then holds his hand out wanting to hold his children that he has missed, "Babe your still weak" Charlie adds not wanting to put more weight on Babe. "I'm fine Charlie" Babe responds rolling his eyes, Charlie agrees and gently lays Ayden in his arms making sure not to hurt him. Babe moves over on the bed then signals Charlie to sit next to him, Charlie sits on the bed next to Babe admiring his beauty even when he is hurt. "Thank you " Charlie whispers in Babes ear, "What for?" Babe asks. "Taking care of me" Charlie answers Babe scoffs at Charlies remarks and adds, "Please I did nothing Charlie you did all of it. Your a great Papa" Babe replies before kissing Charlie, As Babe and Charlie feel comfort in eachothers presence Charlie adds... "I should tell the Nurse your wake. They were worried" Charlie starts to get up but is stopped by his boyfriend holding his wrist, "We can deal with that later, right now stay with me. Please" Babe begs Charlie giving him puppy eyes, Charlie sighs and gets back into bed then leans his head on Babes. "Okay. Only for a bit" Charlie mentions then falls asleep before Babe for he is tired and drained from looking after the twins by himself. Babe looks at his big puppy then whispers, " I love you. " then falls asleep soon after.
