Frisk sat at the dining table looking down at his homework in disdain as he searched through their brain for the techniques she'd been taught at school but was currently struggling to remember them and utilise them in the questions.

Sighing they looked at the clock and the message [Y/n] sent them.

Spooky ghost°~

"Out for the day, hopefully
I'll be back at 5 today."

She frowned a little at the message. It was already 6 Pm, they didn't want to seem clingy but still it'd be nice to have been updated about the time change it was becoming more frequent which bothered them as much as she wanted to disagree.

Sure they were happy that their friend was finally being more sociable and was actually getting friends, even if they hardly talked about them when they got back but it was still progress? Well it was better then nothing.

[Y/n] was... confusing.

Even when they'd first met they haven't seem to change how they are perhaps more themselves around them but it still felt like they kept a wall between them.

With how they acted so caring towards them like an older sibling but never opened up and always acted cold.
He's sure they don't do it on purpose seeing how she took notice that [Y/n] seemed to not be the best with their emotions aswell as those around them or they atleast struggled with highly emotionally charged situations.

They'd hoped that maybe with their newfound physical body that maybe they'd be more open.

Taking a look at her phone as a message came through.

~°Spooky ghost°~

"Im so Sorry"

"I'll be home in 30 minutes"

"Noodkes for dinner??"

"*noodles"

Yet it feels like they're just becoming more distant, not as in never talking but it sure felt like it, perhaps he'd gotten used to their presence through all the years that she'd gotten some sort of parasocial mentality? Or whatever it was called, they just knew it was linked to parasite.

Maybe that's what they need though?I mean She's twelve and they're- actually not too sure but they're still older than them anyway.

Before this they were just always tethered to him, they'd told her themselves when Frisk had asked the question upon their first meeting where they'd actually grown the courage to ask questions to a literal ghost that had just told them "I'm not an evil ghost!" But then said nothing to elaborate, especially considering how neither of them could understandeach other.

Thinking back on it, their first few months living together was pretty interesting, atleast as early as they could remember.

From the language barrier to them helping each other out in different ways, from [Y/n] helping Frisk out on things around the house such as cooking (once they understood how the stoves worked) to other day to day things considering how absent her parents were and Frisk teaching them modern day things worked (call that a work in progress).

Considering all of that they were basically always obligated to be his caretaker without a say in it.
They swore it wasn't an issue and that they were happy to take care of them.

...

The door swung open the [h/c] walking in seeming utterly exhausted and holding a plastic bag with noodles from Pigsy's noodles.

"I- huff managed to get back a bit earlier." They said holding up the bag and shutting the door, placing their shoes with the others.

Frisk watched them walk into the dining room and place down the bag passing a bowl of noodles to Frisk and themselves.

"What happened?" Frisk asked looking at them their red eyes briefly looking at them before looking back at their food.

"Something about tea and sleep, I really can't remember I just blacked out and woke up." And they didn't clarify anymore than that. Much to Frisk's disappointment.

"Do you like hanging out with me?"

[Y/n] paused looking at Frisk as if they'd said something stupid.

"Why wouldn't I?" They asked looking at the ten year old.

"You never seem to like anyone, so I just assumed-"

"Frisk. I apologise if thats what I made you think but trust me when I say, meeting you is not something I shall ever regret"

"Why do I get that pass?" They asked looking up at the transparent ghost.

[Y/n] smiled slightly patting the kid's hair trying to avoid accidentally pass through them.

"You remind me a lot of someone I once knew."

Watching [Y/n] eat they couldn't help but wonder sometimes who was it that they saw her as that made them want to be around them.
