JASMINE'S POV
I got off the bike as Connor finally slowed down right in front of my house. His hair was slightly tousled by the wind but it still looked good.
"You coming in?" I asked as I passed him his helmet.
"Nah, I'll head home, Jake should be home anytime soon though" Connor replied and I nodded.
"Uhm... I kinda had fun today" I mumbled looking at my feet, but after a while of silence I looked up to see Connor smiling, this wasn't his actual smirk I really hate, it was a genuine smile and I suddenly found myself smiling in response.
"You look weird when you smile" I just had to ruin the moment, though I was lying he looked too handsome.
What the hell am I thinking?
"I could say same about you freak" He replied smirking, and there goes the smile I once adored.
"See you tomorrow?" I found myself asking which is quite surprising.
"Yeah.." He got on his motorcycle and I held on to his wrist, he stopped at turned to stare at me.
"Use the helmet Connor" I said and he stared at the helmet before staring at him.
"On one condition" He said, I really can't believe this kid is bargaining with me for his own safety.
Unbelievable!.
"Which is?"
"I get to call you cupcake now"
"What happened to babe?" No! That came out wrong, why did I have to say that?.
"I knew you liked me calling you babe" He had a cocky grin on and I rolled my eyes.
"Fine, Just put on your helmet" I glared at him but he didn't seem fazed.
"Ok cupcake" He winked and I glared at him.
"I hate you" I said
"No you love me" He replied.
"You wish"
"I really do" The dumbo answered and his last reply seems strange.
"Well get going already, you're such a nuisance" I tried to keep glaring at him but it turned into a small smile.
His motorcycle came on, and he put on the helmet, which I was grateful for even if he made a bargain out of it.
"See you tomorrow cupcake" He said and drove off leaving me standing on the driveway watching his retreating back.
Today has been a long day and I can't wait to get in bed and have a long nap.
I touched the door knob and the door opened almost immediately, and I was faced with my mom looking surprised.
"Jasmine? Why are you home this early?"
Oh Shi--...
"Uh... Hi mom?" I pretended sounding weak and she arched an eyebrow, that sign meant I should go on.
"Uhm... I-I got sick at school today and I had to come home cos the school nurse wasn't available " I continued with my weak voice. That's the lamest lie even I have heard.
And the award for the worst liar of the year goes toooo... Jasmine Watterson.
Mum's expression slowly turned into concern, she placed her palm on my forehead and I panicked.
"You're burning up" She said and I almost stared at her with eyes as wide as saucers.
"I'm burning up?... Uh yeah, I'm burning up cos I'm sick" I mentally face palmed at my stupidity.
