Previously... "Suddenly, tires screeched in the parking lot"...
"Travis?" Taylor asked, sitting straight up in bed. She saw her husband nervously standing by the window.
"Shh", Travis shushed, still looking out the window.
"What was that?", Taylor whispered.
Travis had a stressed look on his face but he tried to hide it. "I'm not sure, honey. Probably nothing to worry about", Travis whispered.
"It obviously is something and you being stressed makes me stressed", Taylor ranted, slinging her feet off the edge of the bed.
"Tay, stay over there", Travis commanded.
"Travis, I don't understand", Taylor said, sitting on the bed. She glanced over at her children, making sure they were still asleep.
"Just stay on the bed for now sweetie. I'll handle this", Travis said, only making Taylor more worried.
Taylor's heart rate increased as she could only imagine the worst possible scenario of what was happening outside.
A moment of silence filled the room.
"Travis, you've been lying to me about your job for the ten plus years I've known you and I listened to you when you told me last night that we needed to randomly leave. I've stuck by your side this whole time, trusting you completely. If I have to stay on the bed at least tell me what's happening outside", pleaded Taylor, her blue eyes brimming with tears.
Travis sighed, closing the shades and sitting beside Taylor on the edge of the bed.
"There's a white van out there and it's very similar to the one my old job used to drive", Travis said as calmly and quietly as he could.
Taylor's eyes widened as she felt her breathing grow heavier. "What?", was all she could say. "Is it them?".
"I don't know but it could. I saw two figures getting out of the car, but they were wearing all black. I couldn't tell", Travis informed her.
Tears fell from Taylor's eyes as she listened closely to Travis's story.
However, Travis had left out a major detail out of his explanation to Taylor. He thought one of the men looked very familiar. The man had a very distinctive sleeve tattoo on his right arm that Travis could recognize from a mile away. It was The Man In Black, his driver for many years.
Taylor let out a gasp, covering her hand with her mouth. "You idiot!", Taylor whisper-yelled.
Of all the ways Travis expected Taylor to react to the news, this was not one.
Travis gave Taylor a confused look. "Is your phone's location turned off?", Taylor asked, holding her hand out for his phone.
"Um, I think so", Travis mumbled, pulling his phone out of his pocket.
"You think so?" Taylor said a little too loud, luckily, none of the kids woke up.
Taylor opened up Travis's phone. His location was still on.
"Do you even love me? Because it seems like you've only taken your whole family out here to get killed", Taylor stated through tears, handing his phone back to prove that his location wasn't off.
"Oh shoot! Here, let me just turn the location off right now", Travis suggested, flipping the switch on his phone.
"Travis, it's too late for that! They already know you're here", Taylor sobbed. Genuine fear was in her eyes.
"Come here, it's going to be ok sweetie", Travis said, opening his arms to a panicked Taylor.
"You are so stupid", Taylor mumbled, hugging his neck tightly as he hugged her middle.
"It's all my fault", Travis mumbled.
"Stop your stupid pity party and do something to fix this! You are a trained assassin, right? Just kill those two men then", Taylor said firmly, looking directly into his hazel green eyes.
Before Travis could respond, Taylor's mood greatly shifted.
Taylor edged herself onto Travis's lap, clutching his neck close.
"I'm so scared", Taylor whisper-sobbed into his neck. She had a death grip on him. Travis held her close, holding her back and belly.
"I won't let anything happen to you. They'll have to get through me first", Travis assured.
"I swear, if anything happens to any one of my babies I'm going to leave you", Taylor said, sniffing.
"I wouldn't blame you", Travis agreed, a tear falling down his own eye.
"We need a plan. This is a fairly large hotel and there are so many rooms, so the only way for them to know which room we're staying in is if the hotel front desk told them", Travis thought out loud.
"Travis, what if they shook the front desk worker for answers", Taylor whisper-shouted, panic shooting through her. The room felt as if it was closing in on her and the temperature seemed to rise dramatically, making little beads of sweat appear on Taylor's back.
The baby in Taylor's womb seemed to have woken up from all the stress and was making sure it's mom knew it was awake, kicking her ribs harshly. Taylor soothed out her belly, not taking her eyes off of Travis.
"Then we go. There are so many exits around", Travis informed her, pressing kisses to her sweaty hairline. He was trying to do everything he could to make Taylor feel better because it was his stupid mistake that made this happen.
"We're on the 10th floor, Travis!", Taylor exclaimed, causing Lucy to shift in her sleep but settled back down.
"There's stairs sweetheart", Travis comforted, rubbing her back with his hand.
"Easy for you to say! You're not the one that is almost 9 months pregnant! Travvy, I can barely walk, let alone walk down twenty flights of stairs", Taylor sobbed. Taylor only called Travis Travvy during bedroom time or when she was really, really scared.
"I'd carry you. And it's only 10 flights", assured Travis, kissing her cheek as he smoothed his fingers through her hair. He was just trying to get her breathing to steady again.
"We have three kids! Carry them instead".
"Tay, baby", Travis began but was cut off by Taylor.
"Travis, promise me that if worse comes to worse and you have to decide who to save, you'll choose the kids. That you'd leave me because I'm too pregnant and a weakness", Taylor sobbed, hiding her face in the crook of his neck.
"Taylor, honey, of course I'd choose the kids, but I don't want to think about that now. And honey, you're not weak. Not at all. You've pushed out three babies and are going to push out another very soon. You're the strongest person I know", Travis soothed.
Taylor was momentarily calm. "Really?", she asked softly, stroking his beard.
"I meant every word of it. The strongest", Travis smiled, kissing her temple.
Suddenly, a loud bang sounded from the lower levels of the hotel.
