Previously... "...I have something to tell you that you may not like"....
Taylor sighed. "What is it now? Do you have another wife that I don't know about? A child with another woman? Oh, let me guess, you got the directions wrong and you accidentally drove us to Mexico", Taylor stated sarcastically. At this point, nothing would shock her. She cradled Navy closer to her chest.
"No, none of that", Travis began. "I found us a place to live".
"How is that bad?" Taylor asked. Taylor was confused as to why Travis was acting like a place to live was such a bad thing.
Travis sighed, pulling the van to a stoplight. "It's in a not so good neighborhood".
"That's fine. I mean, as long as the kids stay safe then there's no problem", Taylor said.
"So you're fine with the apartment being in a sketchy neighborhood?" Travis asked, surprised.
"I mean, I guess", Taylor stumbled.
"You're the best baby. The absolute best", Travis grinned pulling her close into his arms as they lay in bed.
After they put Navy in her baby cot, they cuddled in the bed.
"I love you", Travis said, looking into her blue eyes.
"I love you too", Taylor smiled. She gently pressed her lips to Travis's, Travis kissing back.
"Goodnight baby", Travis whispered.
The Next Day...
"I'm tired of being in the car!" Sawyer complained from the back seat. He kicked the back of the seat in front of him which happened to be Lucy's.
"I know buddy. And you are being the best little boy ever. All of you, really", Taylor complemented.
"Stop kicking my chair!" Lucy said with force.
"Why?" Sawyer teased.
"Mommy, Sawyers kicking the back of my chair", Lucy complained.
"Sawyer, stop kicking the back of your sister's chair", Taylor warned.
"Fine", Sawyer mumbled under his breath.
"What's that? When Mom tells you to do something you say yes ma'am or OK. What did you say?", Travis asked, looking back at Sawyer from the rear-view mirror.
"Nothing. I said yes ma'am", Sawyer said, correcting himself.
A few minutes of silence filled up the van.
"Mommy, can we listen to music?" Lucy asked, kicking her little legs around out of boredom.
"Sure", Taylor said. She turned the radio on and played a popular radio station and a rap song came on. Lucy began saying all the lyrics, clean and dirty.
Taylor quickly changed the station, much to Lucy's despair.
"How does she know those lyrics? I try to listen to clean songs around the kids", Taylor wondered out loud.
"I learned it in Daddy's car!" Lucy squealed.
"Shhh, Navy is asleep", Taylor shushed. "And when we get to the apartment I'm going to give you a talk to", Taylor mumbled to Travis. Travis nodded, knowing how those encounters usually went.
