The next morning, Taylor awoke to the sound of birds tweeting outside the window. The window let in a soft morning glow, not too bright but just enough light to see.

She noticed an arm was wrapped around her and her pillow had hair on it, and she slowly lifted her head to find Travis's chest under her head and his arm wrapped around her.

Memories of the previous day and night swarmed in her head and caused her to smile. She treasured those memories in her heart and considered them some of her fondest.

Travis's breathing remained steady as his chest slowly heaved up and down, a peaceful look on his face. His eyes were closed and occasionally fluttered softly as if he were dreaming.

A smile curled Taylor's lips as she gently stroked Travis's beard stubble with her thumb. She laid her head back down and felt Travis pull her closer with his arm while he dreamed.

Not wanting to wake him, Taylor gently laid a kiss on Travis's chest and slowly went out of his embrace not to wake him.

She tiptoed into the kitchen and looked around. The cabinets were a fresh oak and smelled of the forest, a comfort scent to her. The flooring was a light color due to the fact that they were chopped down fresh merely years ago. Barely any scratches were on the floor despite the board's light color. "The previous owners must have not had any children", Taylor thought to herself.

She tied on her apron and slipped into Travis's large boots, grabbing the egg basket as she went out into the beautiful May morning air. The air was fresh and the birds sang a song of the new day.

She walked, with difficulty due to Travis's large boots, to the hen house and placed the eggs from the hen's nests into her basket, having to move some of the more stubborn hens to retrieve their eggs.

She tiptoed back into the house, trying to stay quiet so Travis didn't wake up. She made sure to take off the boots because they made noise.

Opening a cabinet, Taylor got out one of her bowels and placed it on the wood counter. She began cracking the eggs from the basket and whisking them in the bowl.

Travis awoke but didn't feel Taylor so he felt around with his hand. Nothing.

He saw the bedroom door was cracked open so he assumed she was already up. He crept into the kitchen and saw his beautiful bride whisking eggs in their kitchen. It was their home now.

He smiled, seeing how beautiful she looked even before she was fully ready for the day.

He crept up on her, placing his hands on her waist.

Taylor jumped, thoroughly startled. "Travis!"

Travis chucked, his eyes twinkling. "I was just saying good morning". He kept his hands on her hips and she didn't bother to move them.

"We'll, you've thoroughly woken me up so..". Travis engulfed Taylor's lips with his, cutting her off mid-sentence. She squeaked in surprise then kissed back.

"You kissed me", Taylor said in a daze.

"Mhmm, yes I did. We are married after all so we don't have to worry about your Pa catching us because it's legal under contract now", Travis explained.

Taylor tried to stay mad at Travis but it was nearly impossible when he did such adorable and sweet things.

"I suppose you're right", Taylor said after a moment of thought.

"I'm going to go feed the horses. I'll be right back", Travis said, kissing her cheek before throwing his boots on and heading out to the barn.

Taylor continued to whisk the eggs and then poured them into a hot skillet over the stove, letting them crackle.

By the time Travis returned from feeding the horses, Taylor had finished making the eggs.

"Smells good sweetie", Travis said, taking his boots and hat off and kissing Taylor's cheek.

"Thank you", Taylor blushed.

"Oh, so does the food. But you, oh you sweetie, you are delicious", Travis growled against her ear.

Taylor giggled as chills ran through her. "Let's get through breakfast first".
