INT. COURTROOM - DAY

The trial of Officer Gray and Kailen has officially begun. Officer Gray is accused of shooting and killing RJ, while witnesses claim it was actually Kailen who pulled the trigger.

"Officer Gray, you are charged with the murder of RJ. How do you plead?" the Prosecutor asked

"Not guilty," Said Officer Gray

"Kailen, you are charged with aiding and abetting murder. How do you plead?" Asked the Prosecutor.

"Not guilty," Said Kailen.

"I saw it all. It was Kailen who shot RJ. Officer Gray was just trying to restrain him," said witness 1.

"Kailen had a gun in his hand. I saw him fire the shot," said witness 2.

"I don't know who shot, but what I do know is Officer Gray was in the passenger seat and the car sped off," witness 3 said.

The prosecution presents their case, building a strong argument against Officer Gray. However, the defense team presents their own witnesses.

"This eyewitness testimony is unreliable. There were multiple inconsistencies in their statements," said the Defense Attorney.

The jury deliberates for hours, but is unable to reach a verdict. The judge declares a mistrial. It is also due to the fact that Kacey was not in attendance at the trail. No one knows where she is. With the result of the day, everyone went home to prepare for the next day. Kailen was furious with the witnesses and needed them gone by tonight! But if they end up missing, it will bring more suspicion to him and sabotage his chances of being free.

I was unable to make it to the trial due to my busy schedule, but I will be at the next one. Right now, I'm at home trying to get in contact with Kacey. We've filed a missing person's report, we've called her other friends and family and even went to her job. In the middle of my investigation, Kai walks through the door.
