Keefe POV:

I lay on the ground in shock by what had just happened. I knew that the Black Swan were most likely gonna retaliate but I didn't expect that.

I have never lost a fight like that in my life. EVER. Especially to the Black Swan.

I have never seen that group before. The boy Fitz was fighting looked easy, but that girl. I have never seen her before. The way she fought was something crazy.

Anyways, a hand was in my blurry vision from the bombs. I took it and Fitz pulled me to my feet.

"You good?" He asked, and frowned at my throbbing nose.

I rubbed my nose, but regretted it when it started hurting. I looked at my red stained hand.

"Yea," I said. "I'm fine."

Biana came up to me with a cut on her eyebrow.

"Let's go." She said.

We nodded and called Brant.

"HOW DO YOU FAIL?!" Mother shouted.

I looked at my shoes and refused to make eye contact with her.

"THIS MISSION WAS CRUCIAL TO BE SUCCESSFUL!"

"They had a new crew." I said quietly, catching her attention. "I think they called one of them Agent Moonlark."

Gisela's eyes widened.

"Moonlark..." she muttered.

"You know her?" I asked, leaning forward, "she did this to my nose."

Gisela sighed.

"You need to leave Keefe." She said.

I frowned and nodded.

I ran to the infirmary and had Elwin tape the cuts across my nose. He handed me some prosthetic skin and strong clear double sided glue.

See one of the main reasons people haven't found out about us being spies is what we do when we get injured. We have silicone fake skin to put over the wound if it scabs or needs stitches. That way no one could even know we were injured.

"Hi," Fitz said as I walked into the training room.

"Hi," I said glumly as I set my things in my locker.

"It's okay with what happened earlier," he said. "It's one mission."

"Yea but this one mission was crucial. Agent Gisela was so mad at what happened."

He nodded and gestured for me to come over to him by the punching bags. Once I came, he stood behind it and held it in place.

"Do you know what she is planning?" He asked.

I shook my head as I wrapped my hand. "She didn't say anything about what she is planning. All she said was that this mission had to be successful."

Fitz nodded.

I punched the bag, frustrated.

"You wanna hear something?" I asked as I started hitting the bag harder. "Mommy dearest freaked when I mentioned Agent Moonlark."

"What do you mean freaked?" Fitz asked.

"Like, I mentioned the name I heard which was Moonlark. Then she looked worried and sent me out of the room."

"That's wierd.... My bet she will make us have a mission and stuff."

I nodded as I punched the bag so hard Fitz sucked in a breath.

"But we have the school dance next week," he said, with a smirk. "And we need dates."

"I forgot about that." I grunted. "Who are you asking? Or are you breaking hearts again this year?"

He smiled. "Actually I'm asking Linh. She is Sophie's friend."

Her name made butterflies fly in my stomach.

"I think we both know who you are asking." He said with a smirk.

It took all my will power not to blush.

"I don't know how to ask her." I said as I punched the bag one last time.

Fitz let go and took off his own tape. Then we sat down on the bench together.

"Listen man," he said as he squeezed my shoulder. "You are Keefe Sencen. You are the coolest person I know. You are the best agent in the Neverseen. You fight people everyday and go on super cool missions, so I'm pretty sure you can ask a girl out."

I shook my head. "What if she doesn't want me back? What do I tell her?"

"Be yourself." He said as we walked back to the dorm, "that's what everyone loves about you."

I stopped walking and pulled him into a hug. We pulled away.

"Thanks." I said, "for the advise and stuff."

"Anytime."

We walked into the dorm room, where the girls were talking.

"Hey guys," I said.

"Hi." The girls said.

"So we Gisela called us in today." Biana explained. "Marella and I have a mission tomorrow to steal a file in the Hospital."

We sat on our bunks.

"Why though?" Fitz asked.

Marella started twisting one of her braids. "She says it's someone important's medical records from the Black Swan."

My eyes widened.

"I think it's the Moonlark's records." I said, as I leaned against the wall. "Mommy dearest was worried when mentioned the name and sent me out of her office."

"I wonder what is so important about her?" Biana asked in a tone that is almost jealousy. "But anyways, let's head to bed."

We all wished each other goodnight, and I fell into a dreamless sleep.

"Hey Sophie," I called as I jogged over to her and her group. "Do you mind if we talk for a sec?"

She smiled and we walked away from everyone.

"What's up?" She asked.

I smiled and looked at my shoes.

"Do you wanna go to the dance with me?" I said quietly.

"Wait what?" She asked.

I sighed. "Would you, like to go to the dance with me on Monday?"

Her face looked in shock, but quickly spread into a smile. Then before I knew it, her arms were around my waist.

"Yes Keefe Blake," she said. "I would love to go to the dance with you."

The smile I had on my face never left for the rest of the day and my only thoughts were of how lucky I was to go to a dance with Sophie Grace.
