"Okay so, why are we doing this again?"

Jaxe huffed as he leaned against the doorframe leading to Umbra's personal quarters. The Queen was sitting at her liliac vanity table, fixing her sun shaped earings in the mirror.

"Because Void is our ally and he has asked for our aid. Plus I already told you it's about the Cube."

"Sure, about the 'Cube'!"he puffed, "You don't even like the old geezer!"

Umbra sighed, rolling her eyes which Jaxe caught in the reflection.

"Fine. I want to see Gravedigger. Happy?"

Jaxe snarled, "Since when the hell did ya' like kids? Aren't they 'gross little buggers' to ya'?"

"I don't like kids, Jaxe, but it's different now."

She rose to her feet, walking across the room to her closet. She picked up a hairbrush from a small box.

"Oh yeah? How so?", he pushed, crossing his arms.

She sat back down at the vanity. If she had had the mood for it perhaps she would have made him guess, joke at his expense a bit. But today was not the day.
"Gravedigger is my great nephew, Jaxe."

"Wait WHAT?! Since when-?!"

She whipped around, pointing the brush at him, "SHH! Shush! No one needs to know! I'll explain after the meeting, got it?!"

"My lady, the Void family has arrived."
announced Penumbras as he appeared from behind Jaxe in the doorway, making the pumpkin head jump.

"Geez, I need to put a bell on ya'!"

Penumbras shot a glare up at Jaxe.
"Try it and death will be considered merciful compared to what I would do."

Though enjoying the little spectacle and her handsome knight angered, Umbra intervened. "Boys, enough. We have a meeting to conduct, act appropriately!"

The Headknight bowed, "Of course, my Mistress! Apologies!"

"Yes, ma'am." saluted Jaxe with a half open mouth.

"Which members of the Void family are here?"

"Everyone, my lady, minus Fallen." He reported before his gaze softened, Penumbras knew in reality why she asked, "Gravedigger is here."

"Fantastic. I wish to speak to him privately."

"You should first see all the guests, my Mistress."

"Urgh! Do I have to?"

"It would be for the best, my lady."

"Ughhh! Fine! Jaxe, go guard the front entrance, when the other Titans arrive seat them in the dining hall."

"Heeey! Since when do I have to play usher?"

Umbra eyed him down, a glow around her pupils, "...Do you want to keep that pumpkin head or not?"

Jaxe straightened up, swallowing the lump in his throat.
"Y-Yes, my lady!"
