Peso, the Octonauts' medic, is 'killed' in a tragic accident, and Barnacles, the captain, blames himself. Kwazii and Dashi, two of the crew members, are harsh in their judgment, and Barnacles feels guilty for what happened. A month later, Peso is found to be alive, but he had to stay hidden for some reason. Even with Peso back, Barnacles still feels guilty and becomes distant from his crew, eventually running off. Can the Octonauts help their captain? Or will he forever be distant?
One day, Barnacles and Peso were on a Mission, the mission was going smoothly, Nothing bad seemed like it was going to happen....
The ocean was calm, and the sun filtered through the water in gentle beams. Barnacles and Peso were deep into the Mariana Trench, collecting rare medicinal algae that could help treat sick sea creatures. They worked in perfect harmony, Peso's small frame slipping between the narrow crevices and Barnacles' strong arms reaching into the deeper cracks.
Suddenly, without warning, a violent current swept through the trench. Barnacles looked up just in time to see a massive rock dislodged by the torrent heading straight for them. "Peso, look out!" he shouted, pushing the medic out of the way. But it was too late. The rock grazed Peso, pinning his flipper against the trench wall.
