Peso, the Octonauts' medic, is 'killed' in a tragic accident, and Barnacles, the captain, blames himself. Kwazii and Dashi, two of the crew members, are harsh in their judgment, and Barnacles feels guilty for what happened. A month later, Peso is found to be alive, but he had to stay hidden for some reason. Even with Peso back, Barnacles still feels guilty and becomes distant from his crew, eventually running off. Can the Octonauts help their captain? Or will he forever be distant?
One day, Barnacles and Peso were on a Mission, the mission was going smoothly, Nothing bad seemed like it was going to happen....
The calm sea belied the danger that lurked beneath. Barnacles and Peso, in their trusted GUP-A, were charting a new underwater cave system, their headlights piercing the murky depths. The mission was to map the area and collect samples of the unique flora and fauna.
As they ventured deeper, Peso's keen eyes spotted a rare species of bioluminescent coral. Excitedly, he left the GUP to take a closer look. Barnacles monitored from inside, pride swelling in his chest for his brave friend.
Suddenly, a violent current swept through the cave. Peso, caught off-guard, was slammed against the jagged walls. Barnacles acted swiftly, maneuvering the GUP to Peso's aid. But as he reached his friend, his heart sank. Peso was badly injured, unconscious, with a deep gash across his flipper.
