She fell first, he fell harder - KAMIJIROU

Feild trip- TO THE FAIR! (Part 1)

After the first term, the school decided to let the whole school go to a local fair to commemorate their hard work. This excited the students, mostly the blonde boy who had slowly been working his way through the failure with the help of his best friend, Jiro.

"Finally! A break is all I need!" The boy stretched his arms as he sat on his chair. Jiro looked over at him wanting to ask if he wanted to spend time together at the fair. She opened her mouth but words didn't leave it, she pursed her lips and thought "maybe it's best I don't get that close with him, I don't think he'd want people to think we're hm.. together." As if he never flirted with her hinting his infatuation with the girl. Her insecurities of "he wouldn't like a girl like me" or "I'm not his type, he flirts with girls nothing like me." stuck with her each time she wanted to talk to him.

She looked away and as the bell rang for lunch to start, the girls approached her waiting for her to group up with them. As she packed her things into her bag, she glanced over at Kaminari, shook it off and smiled at her friends leaving the classroom with them for lunch.

Once they arrived the girls didn't waste any time talking about their plans for the fair. Jiro was just left there twirling her earphone jacks still thinking if she should ask kaminari if he wanted to hang out during the fair or not. She was annoyed that she and him hadn't been hanging out for a while because of final term exams, but relieved at the same time because that was what she wanted as part of her feelings towards him was absorbed by her insecurities. As Jiro thought deeply of the trivial matter, the voices of her friends wandered into her ear and out the other.

"Jiro!" "Hey jiro" "earth to jiro?" "Hey isn't your quirk good hearing girl?" As they tried to grab her attention she looked up at them with a confused expression "sorry, what were you guys saying?" "Oh we were asking if you had anyone to hang out with during the fair?" Jiro looked puzzled "what's that supposed to mean, can't I hang out with you guys?" "Yeah duh! That was our original plan to stick together" said mina. "But this fair is really popular and they have a one buddy policy to avoid crowding" momo added.

"Yeah me and tsu were gonna buddy up" ochako said with a smile. "Kero! And hagakure is busy with her boyfriend Ojiro, so they're definitely buddying up together" said Asui. Yaoyorozu began to speak "Jiro I know we're best friends, however, me and Mina are excited to go to this tea convention inside the fair, and I know that would definitely bore you" "yeah! That tea thing could help with how I can make acid and momo is such a know it all about tea!" Added Mina. "Huh, don't sweat it momo, it's fine!" Jiro smiled "I understand you guys, I could totally go on my own instead I don't mind. Id probably just be listening in at the local band concerts being held there" her friends smiled back yet with a slight tinge of worry "are you sure Jiro?" Asked uraraka "yeah you guys have fun, carnivals aren't my thing anyway, I wouldn't want you guys to feel down, have fun." She said waving her earphone jacks around. They smiled and continued with their planning.

Right behind their table was where Kaminari and a few of his friends were sitting. He overheard how Jiro didn't have a buddy yet, and got excited. "Maybe I could ask her to be my buddy" he thought.
He looked over at his friends seeing they've already figured out their pairs. "Hey bakubro! Me and you right?" Kirishima said with a sharp grin. "Tch whatever." Replied Bakugou. "Hey Denki I get we usually hang out, but me and Tokoyami wanted to head to the market stalls, I wanna look for a new rug for my room and he wanted to find some cool goth things for his!" Sero said making sure that kaminari was cool with the pairings. "Hey no worries dude! You two have fun! I don't have a whole lotta cash to dash out anyway!" Kaminari said as he thought of Jiro.

In hearing this from her quirk, she began to wonder if this was an opportunity or temptation for her, they both didn't have partners. All she could think of is if she should ask him or if she should stay away to avoid some sort of pain or grief she started to craft inside her head.

Later that day he spotted the girl with headphones on her head heading out the gate, "this is my chance" he thought to himself. He ran after the girl and yelled out her name. "HEY JIRO! Wait up!" She looked at him heading towards her, as he met with her side she lowered her headphones. "Oh hey kmainari, did you need something, you know I can't really tutor you about anything since there's no more tests for the term." He smiled as she thought of him and explained himself "what no! I'm here to ask you about the fair tomorrow silly!" "O-oh? Yeah sure what about it?" She said, interested in what he'd have to say, deep down she hoped he'd ask her to buddy up with him, however she had more doubts than dreams.

"I just wanted to ask if you had anyone you were going with yet.." he said as he looked away from her eyes, pocketed his hands and started to rhythmically stand on his tip toes and let his feet back down as he waited for her answer. "Hm? No I don't have a buddy yet..." as she spoke she reluctantly declined to ask her own question. "D-do you?"
"Nope." He said as he smiled looking softly at her, "I was hoping... maybe you would want to pair up with me?" He said while heat started to rise up to his face causing him to feel a slight sensation of confusion especially as his stomach decided to let butterflies inside.
After hearing what he said, she couldn't help but feel a sense of relief that took the form of a smile, "yeah I'd like that."

They smiled at eachother, making their way to the train station, the ride home was quiet but the tension between them was different. As they reached the station, they waved and began to part ways.

"See you tomorrow, Jiro!"
"See ya, Kaminari"

"Woah that's weird, she was kinda off today, no sarcastic remarks, nothing." thought Denki "hopefully she's not bummed to be paired up with me..."
"Why am I feeling so light all of a sudden..?"

As Jiro walked she couldn't help but smile to herself and think of what had happened. It's like her hope manifested into her dream. "I can't believe he asked me to go with him!"  Kyoka thought while she felt a tingly sensation creep up her cheeks and her heart.
