Drifting

It's been around a week since the sports festival. Ever since Kaminari had started to date Shiozaki, he's been spending less and less time with Jiro without even knowing it. Jiro watched from afar each time she saw him, she couldn't help but think to herself, "how could he forget?" Or "why did I even bother? He never liked me like that anyway."

It felt so natural, yet, so surreal to her. Like How could he forget about her that easy? But at the same time, it still made sense. But even if it did make sense it hurt. This is why she swore off trying to be his friend; she failed though.

Now she was in her room, just staring at the yellow plush toy he gave her tucked away in her closet. Her forehead crinkled as her eyebrows narrowed, she got up to her closet door, slamming it shut. She turned back to go to her bed, but the heat on her face beat her to her next move as warm tears rolled down her face. She really wanted to forget about him. I mean, there was nothing between them anyway. He just slipped through her fingers, or rather he just naturally drifted away. It was better than an argument or a break up, so she shouldn't be too upset right?

School was starting again. She really couldn't be bothered to go, admittedly, she only rolled out of bed to see him every day. But now she didn't really have any other motivations, he was never hers after all. If she didn't get up, her parents would start to grow suspicious, which is now the only thing making her go to school. I mean it's not like anything bad happened between them, so she didn't really understand what she felt, she was hurt that he just threw her out like that, but it made sense, being good friends with a girl while you have a girlfriend would be very difficult.

She arrived at the train station, the same one Kaminari takes every morning. It was easy to spot him in a crowd, but harder to spot her, so she avoided him easily. At first she couldn't understand why she did, but it made sense after seeing him with his new girlfriend.

As she stepped towards a carriage, she looked around making sure he wasn't around. However, he was there right behind her, he was nearly late, but just in time to be able to tag along with her. Once all passengers were on board, the train doors closed. She sighed, walking over to a seat, preferably a window seat. She sat down and raised the volume of her earphones. Her quirk then felt a vibration beside her. She looked over, did someone sit down right next to her? There are so many other seats.

There she saw him. A blonde haired boy, smiling at her, the sunlight from the window illuminated his face, beaming with excitement. Her face scrunched in shock. "Hey Jiro! It's been a while" he scratched the back of his head.
"U-uh yeah..."

She awkwardly shifted herself, positioning her body on the further end of her chair. He noticed this and questioned her strange posture. "So how have you been?" He asked trying to play no mind to the awkward tension, I mean they were still best friends after all. "Nothing much. Just busy." The cold tone sent shivers down his spine "woah has it really been that long since I've talked to her? Has she always been this way?"

"Oh uh, you didn't mind me sitting here at all right?" He said, smiling shakily. "Mm.. I guess I don't mind." She looked away, hoping he would stop talking, she couldn't handle the guy she was crying about suddenly talking to her that naturally again, it got her flustered. He down looked to his lap confused "Is she all right?"

He looked back at her. "Hey... It's been a while, would you like to spend some time with me? It's okay if you don't. You may always answer this question later too." She looked over at him. "Why is he being so formal?" She scowled at him in confusion thinking of his strange behaviour. Stunned, he panicked "Uh did I say something to offend you, Jiro-San?" She scowled even more. "Bro who are you?" "H-huh? Excuse me?"
