After the festival, everyone went home with good spirits just in time for the break. While the two went home on the last day of the last term, it went normally, just two kids laughing on the train then walking back home after a long day, only with one girl hauling a giant plush toy home.
Jiro completely forgot about the toy once she got home, the first thing to enter and greet her family was the familiar and friendly yellow face. "Oh? What is that Kyoka dear?" Her mother's face fixated on the large yellow plush toy that covered her daughter. "Oh this? My friend won it at the festival carnival game things." She placed it down beside her as she crouched down at the foot of the door to take off her shoes. "Oh is that Kyoka?" Her dad asked as he walked towards their home's entrance "Whoaaa what is that big yellow sack thing kyo?!" She looked over at her parents "hm? It's the pikachu thing. Ain't it cute?" "Her friend won it for her at the festival hon, ain't that sweet?" Her mother said smiling.
"Friend huh? What friend? That rich one eahhh.. what's her name uhhh... oh! Womo? Nah. Yaoromomo?" The girl laughed as her father guessed. "No silly! You know how strict that festival is, I paired up with kaminari! I thought I already told you this dad!" He smiled as she headed upstairs. "Well I'm glad yer makin' more friends kyo! Totally rockin' of ya kid! Introduce us to her and all your other girlfriends kyo!" She looked at him puzzled, however her mother corrected him"oh hunny! It's that boy she tutors, I think! He is a sweet boy." Jiro smiled as she continued to go upstairs towards her room."Ohhh I see, whosat'?" (Who's that) Jiro's mother pondered his question."Oh hm.. let's see...I was getting off work and was walking home and I saw our girl walking home too, but with that boy kaminari... and he was such a sweet boy! He was so nervous though.. it was strange but-" he cut her off as he realised a key detail. "A BOY?!" "Oh yes, yes! A young boy from her school he's-" "KYOKAAAA JIRO!!!"

"Geez old man... for the last time. He's a friend from school. Can I go now?" They sat in the living room, in an interrogation-style formation, Jiro on the other side from her father, and her mother watching inbetween.
"Not so fast! Men are crazy people you know..." she looked at her mother in hopes she would cut some sense into her father, however she just nodded. "Kyoka sweetheart, your father is right you must be very careful who you're friends with, especially since you're a young woman." Jiro deflated however, her hope reignited by her mother's meditative nature. "However, Kyotoku dear, our daughter was accepted into the top hero course into the country! I'm sure she can defend herself and call for help and support! We can't just coddle her and protect her from everything! Especially since it's just a boy she's been friends with since the start of the year, right Kyoka dear?" Jiro nodded her head aggressively, hoping it would be over soon. "B-but! Mikaaa, Babey!! Can't you see our baby is inching away from us and probably to a scummy dumb boy!!" Her dad shed tears as he whined to his wife coddling him as she patted his head.
(Not related but I love how Jiro's name Kyoka came from her parents' names mixed together Kyotoku-> Kyo, Mika->Ka [Kyoka!] 😭💜)
Jiro always had friends that were guys, and her dad always reacted the same about each guy. Every. Single. Time. Jiro used to get so flustered and scared as if she did something wrong, but now she's just used to her father's dramatics. Her father was always sweet and caring, however, always did everything with an empty mind, following his heart instead. But it would always get awkward when Jiro would mention other boys her age that aren't relatives. She hated how protective he was, yet she loved it at the same time. Her mother on the other hand was overly supportive.
When Jiro wanted to become a hero, no doubt, both her parents respected her choices and supported her, but her father was the only one who would freak out about every minor scratch on her, while her mother would always motivate her to reach ever higher. She loved her parents' dynamic, she knew she was a very lucky girl.
