Wren awoke to the sounds of voices. She looked around at where she was. She found herself sitting up on a bed in a rather large and unfamiliar room. one wall to the side was covered by a full bookshelf, beside it was a desk and chair. She slowly got up her head pounding with every step she took, she headed downstairs and the voices grew louder and more distinct.
"Sounds like sleeping beauty's awake." She heard Damon say sarcastically as she emerged from the staircase. She could see the group around the desk with frowns on their faces that quickly fixed into kind smiles upon seeing her. "You have nice dreams then?" Damon asked Wren. Wren stood still she froze like a deer in headlights. She stayed silent as both the Salvatore brother had their eyes on her. They took her silence as a no and continued the conversation they were having beforehand.
Just then the door burst open and in came the brunette from the day before. Wren's eyes widened as she took in the sight of the girl. she thought she almost looked familiar but brushed the thought off as the girl spoke up. "Is Stefan here? He called me. He said it was important." She asked Damon who just shrugged.
"Well hello to you too, Elena." He responded to the girl. everything in Wren's mind started to click. this was the girl who they were saving yesterday. Elena.
Just then Stefan walked in and sent an acknowledging smile toward Wren, she hesitantly returned it as he spoke to Elena. "Hey," She smiled at him before turning her attention towards the same woman who fled after Damon had staked the suit man.
"You." She spoke in a low tone, she sounded angry but also confused as to what she was doing in the Salvatore house.
"I have a name you know." She almost spat at Elena in annoyance, she glared at Elena.
"Yes, we know Rose," Damon interrupted the stare-off between the two women before things took a turn for the worse.
Rose resumed what she was going to say before Elena made her interrupt herself. "Okay, you have to understand I only know what I've picked up over the years and I don't know what's true and what's not." She looked up at Damon before continuing "It's the problem with all this vampire crap but Klaus, I know he's real."
"Who is he?" Elena asked dumbfounded at this new information.
"He's one of the originals, he's a legend." Damon replied to the brunette before looking towards his brother."From the first generation of vampires." Stefan finished his brother's sentence as if on the same though thought track.
"Like Elijah?" Elena questioned the brothers but was surprised when it was Rose who answered.
"No. Elijah was the Easter bunny compared to Klaus. He's a foot soldier. Klaus is the real deal." Wren giggled at her sentence and watched as all eyes shifted to her. "Who even is she?" Rose asked Damon.
"I'm Wren," She said with a small smile on her face that she was grateful that Rose returned. Stefan looked toward her she was still wearing the same clothes as yesterday, they had been reduced to rags at this point from the events of the past days.
"Wren?" He asked not wanting to intrude. She looked up at him letting him know he had her attention. "How are you holding up with everything?" He waited for a response.
"Yes, everything is fine." She lied, she wasn't ready to talk about it, and judging by the look on the younger Salvatore's face he didn't buy it.
"Have you got anything to eat?" Her question came out more as a mumble than anything else. she didn't want to seem demanding. But thanks to his vampire hearing he could hear her just fine.
"Yup, let's go to the kitchen. okay?" He asked as she nodded and followed him towards the kitchen. "All we have is Frosties, it's all Elena eats for breakfast, if you want I can take you to the grill?" At that, he watched as Wren nodded her head.

When the pair arrived at the Grill it was busier than usual. Stefan took Wren's hand and pulled her gently towards a table where he sat down waiting for her to do the same. "Thanks, Stefan. It's nice here." She commented thanking the vampire.
"You don't need to say thank you it's the least I could do. You know, feed you." He looked at her curiosity enveloped and swirled in his brown eyes as he stared. Wren's eyes quickly found his, and he quickly looked away.
"So how did you end up in the cabin?" He asked her curiosity had got the better of him. She stared at him her face blank and withdrawn from emotion. He sat and listened to her heartbeat increase rapidly.
"Um well-" She began before she was interrupted by one of the grill's wait staff.
"What would you like to order?" He asked the two. Stefan asked for some fries and asked Wren what she wanted, she looked at him before asking for the same as him.
"My father," She began looking for the right words to explain how she was thrown into that situation by the heartless man. "He blames me, for our family falling apart, for my older brother slaughtering my siblings." She stopped to calm herself as Stefan watched. heartbreak in his eyes. "He also blames me for my existence, he used to tell me how my mother was a whore and slept around so much that even she doesn't know who my biological father is."
Stefan was nearly overwhelmed by the sheer number of hardships the girl before him had endured. Yet, she persevered, even in the short time she had known Stefan. She had always sensed, from the very moment they met, that he was trustworthy. "He would keep me locked up for months, subjecting me to torture for being the abomination that I am. He would say, 'You should count yourself lucky, I could have sent you with Malachai to the prison world,' and I suppose he believed that was being kind."

When Wren had finished eating she and Stefan got up to leave after paying the bill. Not looking where she was going Wren bumped into a boy about the same age as her who was with a brunette girl with her hair bouncing in curls, she had light brown skin and olive eyes. Wren looked up at the boy and immediately apologised for bumping into him. The boy with dark brown hair and eyes said it was fine before continuing to talk to the girl he was with.
Stefan came over and greeted the two "Hey Bonnie," He said turning to look at her before turning to the boy, "Jeremey" He nodded in acknowledgement toward Stefan.
"Who's that?" Bonnie asked Stefan pointing to Wren who was lost in her own little world taking in her surroundings.
"That's Wren, she's a witch I think." It sounded more like a question than anything else. Bonnie stared wide-eyed at her. "Anyways I have to go, I need to find Elena. Have you seen her?"
Bonnie shook her head at the vampire "No I haven't seen her since me and Jer left school."
"Thank you, Bonnie. I need to go now." He looked towards Wren and beckoned her over to him and they left.
