Chapter 18: Joe

Wow, I can't believe we made it to class on time. Sadly we had to sit in the back, which is fine but kinda distracting since it's where all the football players sit so that they don't have to listen to the teacher, who is discussing the assignment he assigned yesterday. Good thing we started that already because now we are ahead and have more free time. Which means I have more time to spend with Lilly.

I can't believe it's only been a day of college and I already have this amazing girl who is a friend.

"Hey, Lil, can you hear the teacher because I can't?"

"I sort of can but he's just repeating the assignment and telling us to pick a partner." She says looking at the teacher, super focused.

"Good thing I already have one." I say smiling at her.

"Yeah me too," She says, meeting my eyes with a smile.

I start to see everyone get up and move around, must be picking partner time, But since everyone is busy doing that I can talk to Lilly more.

"Hey so, what are we supposed to do, Lil?"

"Umm well the teacher said to pick a partner and work on the assignment so we should probably just work on the assignment" She says opening her notebook for this class and turns to the notes we collected yesterday for this assignment.

"Alright well what do we have so far?"

"From the library we got an outline of how the story goes and the plot but last night I also wrote up the evidence, reason and the conclusion. So all you have to do now is read it over and write the introduction. After that we just have to make a presentation of it to present on Friday in class."

"Okay, cool." I say smiling at her

I take the notebook from her and start to read over her notes and the essay. It's fucking amazing and so well put together. After I finish reading it I look over and see her sleeping with her head on the desk, facing me. She looks so peaceful so I don't wake her, But I do take a photo of her so I can look back at it later. Then I start working on the introduction to the essay.

An hour passes by and I get the introduction done and she is still asleep. So, I decide to kiss her on the forehead to wake her up since class is over. She has drool on the side of her mouth when she sits up and looks at me. She quickly wipes it away with her hand.

"Umm how long was I sleeping for"

"The rest of class".

"Oh I'm so sorry, I left you to do all the work" she starts packing up as the class leaves through the door.

"It's all good I got the intro done Lil, plus you did a lot of work last night."

"Great, thanks Joe and very true haha. Are you hungry for lunch yet? I don't have my next class for 30 mins" she says as we walk out the building to the courtyard.

"Yeah, I'm always hungry."

"Of course you are" she laughs and grabs my hand to lead me toward the cafeteria. As we walk there I notice how cute she is and I wish I could tell her. I also notice the flowing of her hair and her vanilla and lavender scent blowing off of her.

When we reach the cafeteria I open the down and let her walk in first

"Thanks" she says smiling up as she walks to get in line for food. She grabs a tray for me and for her, and starts piling food on them. She grabs a muffin, apple, brownie, chocolate milk, and a bowl of mac and cheese. I grab the trays while she scans her card for the food and I find us a table in the back away from everyone.
