Chapter 20: Joe

Okay that was weird she said bye and just left like there was no time at all to get there. I'm kinda sad about that, it made it seem like I did something wrong, I really hope I didn't. But I can't think about that because then I won't be able to focus on my class and this one is super important for me to pass. Maybe I'll see her in the library later today.

While I am in class I get a notification from my phone and I decide to check. I check it and I have two messages, one from my mom and one from Lilly. I check my mom's first.

Mom: Hi honey, I hope class is good, I love you.

Then I check Lilly's.

Lilly: Hey, I'm sorry for leaving like that, I realize it probably made it look like you did something wrong but you didn't, it's just me. Talk later

I read over the text a few times and I just notice that something feels off, maybe I did do something wrong and she isn't telling me. I decide to leave it alone and focus on the class. The professor starts speaking and then it becomes dark.

I'm a woke from my partner shaking me, the noise of feet walking towards a door, and the sound of students packing up

"What happened?" I ask confused

"Dude you fell asleep, you were chilling then your eyes closed and you laid your head down. But your phone has been going off all class" my partner tells me as he packs up and leaves.

I check my phone and see that I have several messages from Lilly

Lilly: My class ended early due to the professor not feeling well, I know you're in class but wanna meet in the library?

Lilly: Look I know I was kinda rude and I own you an explanation for my behavior but please don't shut me out

Lilly: Is your class that interesting you won't respond

Lilly: Is your phone dead?

Lilly: I have a shift at the library now so talk later I guess

I see that the last one was sent just minutes ago so I respond back.

Joe: Hey, I am so sorry Lilly, I fell asleep on my desk, heading to the Library now to talk to you.

I felt so bad that I fell asleep and I kinda ignored her. I also slept through my most important class, ugh this day is beginning to really suck. I start packing my stuff up to leave and when I step outside my phone rings. I look down and it's a message from Lilly.

Lilly: lol you fell asleep. Don't bother coming, it's really busy and I won't be off for probably 4 or more hours. Go home and nap so you don't fall asleep on our date tonight.

Lilly: Yes, I'm asking you on a date. Please say yes.

Joe: Yes, I will go on a date with you.

Lilly: Great, take a nap and meet me at my dorm around 7pm. Wear athletic clothes and bring socks.

Joe: Ok I will

Lilly: Thanks! Gotta go now! 

Joe: See you later. 

I then put my phone away and start walking towards my dorm but I decide to stop at the store first and get Lilly a new NAU hoodie and flowers. I decide on this nice big comfy hoodie I see that isn't her size but I'm sure she'll like it since she loves oversized things from what I've seen her wear, and then since her favorite color is lavender, I get her lavender flowers. I also grab some chocolate in a heart box to give her. After, I am done with shopping. I head to my dorm and put the hoodie in a bag and chocolate in the fridge and the flowers in water so they don't wither before I give them to her. Then I throw myself in bed with an alarm on for 5:30 and take a nice relaxing and peaceful nap.
