Chapter 6: Joe

Ugh, I can't stand this. I really wanna tell her how I feel, but I know she isn't looking for a relationship right now, plus we just met today.

"Hey Lilly, when are you heading to work?"

"I have work after my last class around 3pm, so in like 4 hours. Why?"

"I was just wondering. So I know when to be there to see you."

"Oh okay cool" She says while turning bright red and looks down at her food, which is now gone. But after a minute she speaks again.

"So, what class do you have after this? Also what time do you work?"

"I have AP calculus 2 after this. I have work tomorrow after my last class. I'll work a 6 hour shift."

"Wow, that is impressive. Do you have plans for after college?"

"Yeah go to Space Force for cybersecurity and hopefully get married too. How about yourself?" She doesn't know but the hopefully get married part is for her, I hope to marry her because she is amazing. Wait what did I just think, ugh my brain is all messed up now. Ever since our eyes met this morning I've been so focused on her, I guess romance movie didn't lie about love at first sight. Fuck I'm so fucked with this girl, I need to get a grip!, and pay attention because she's talk.

"That sounds like a cool job. I'm getting my major in Biology right now so I can get into vet school and then I can work towards my PHD if I want, but I know I wanna work with animals. I don't see myself getting married just because I don't believe in all of that. I'm more focused on my career, but I would maybe like to minor in music and write songs on the side. And maybe write a book too."

"What if you found the right person who gets you?"

"Umm I don't think that person exists, I have high standards and a lot of baggage. Plus I mostly keep to myself. If you didn't notice, I've only talked to you all day. Plus I haven't had the best luck with guys and love, since I was online for most of my school years I never connected with anyone."

"Well you never know that person could be right around the corner or even at the library tonight. You never know."

"Yeah you're right but even if there was a person, he probably wants someone else that is simple and easy to deal with. I'm not that and never will be. Can we change the topic please?"

I think about what she said and I get sort of sad that she talks so badly about her, but I change the topic to make her happier. 

"Yeah um what Math do you have?"

"I have Geometry 5 Honors"

"Ewww."

"Haha, it's not eww I'm ahead of you. In high school I took Calc so I wouldn't take it in college, I'll be able to graduate a year early if I want."

"Geometry sucks though."

"I think its easy, but most classes are for me, which is why i tutor other students sometimes in the library, I help the librarian with that to "

"Oh that's cool, really sweet of you too."

"Its nothing, I'm just doing my part"

Suddenly her alarm goes off for her next class and she starts packing up.

"Well I guess that's the end of lunch. I'll see you later."

"Yeah, thanks for eating with me and hanging with me, it was nice. If you need help with the homework for English just stop by the library, I'll be there until 9pm"

"Ok cool thanks and I'll sit with you again tomorrow for lunch."

"Umm okay, sounds good. Bye Mr. Allen"

She waves as she walks away towards her class.

"Bye Ms. Snow." I wave goodbye and watch her walk away with that cute little walk of hers.
