Chapter XVIII

Chapter 18: Family On the Way

Link's Point of View

I slowly opened the door to my bedroom, hoping that the doctor had good news. Zelda was now 6 months into pregnancy, and she had not been feeling well for the past few days. I feared for her life as I always do.

"Well?" I asked.

"She'll be fine, this is usual at this stage, however if it gets worse, call me," the doctor said.

Zelda looked at me from her bed. I squeezed her hand and hoped for the best.

Zelda's Point of View

Today was the day. These nine months have been long. Me and Link were heading to the hospital. My contractions had started half an hour ago. Link helped me into the carriage, as I tried to bite back another wave of pain. As we got to the hospital, my water broke, and I went into labour.

A few hours later, Link rushed into the room, only to find me holding our new-born baby. I giggled, when I saw his face. Link had gone to the bathroom, because he had been holding on for hours to be with me, but eventually he couldn't hold on any longer.

"What shall we name her?" I asked.

"Luna. We shall name her Luna," Link replied.

3rd Person

At the castle, baby Luna laid in her crib playing joyfully with her mobile. Link opened the door to Luna's room (which was heavily guarded), walked over to her crib and swooped her into his arms. Luna quite enjoyed being in her fathers grasp. Zelda walked into the room and smiled. She knew that Link wouldn't treat his daughter like her father treated her. When the time came, Zelda would teach her daughter to wield her goddess magic, just like her mother was supposed to. However that never happened because Zelda's mother died an early death.

Now Zelda couldn't help but laugh. She knew that this was what she wanted, and she never wanted it to end.

"If only they saw what our heroes went through, only then would they truly know how lucky they are to have them," said an elderly woman.

"That's it?" The child asked, who was in bed.

The woman shook her head. "No. That was only the beginning of a great story."

She grabbed another book saying: HYRULE CHRONICLES 2: LOVE IN BATTLE. "The Hyrule Chronicles continues to tell the story."

Hmm, who is that woman? Guess you will find out next book, maybe...
