Akk feels a chill run through him and a wave of fear and nerves. Ayan is standing in front of him, pinning him against the lockers with an expression of pain and disappointment that makes him nauseous.

That shine that normally exists in Ayan's eyes does not exist. There is no mocking smile, there is nothing. Only disappointment and sadness.

Akk clenches his fingers around Ayan's hooded jacket tightly, maybe to steady himself or just to keep his hand busy from pushing Ayan away.

"Akk, I asked you a question, what are you doing?" Ayan repeats his question, looking at Akk with a frown.

Akk doesn't know what to do. Should he say something? If so, he doesn't know what.

"Do not mess." Akk manages to say, pushing Ayan.

"Are you seriously doing this?" Ayan sounds desperate and hurt, Akk couldn't even deny that doesn't affect him, because does.

Akk can't think about it too much, because they hear footsteps nearby and Ayan drags him away from the lockers to hide behind a pile of trash. Akk feels the nerves even more than before, what if Teacher Sani finds them?

"Do you think she's gone?" Akk asks, his voice sounding weak and raspy.

"No, she must be at the door waiting for us to leave."

Ayan is faster and smarter than Akk, so he calls teacher Sani and tells her that he made a mistake when handing in the homework. Teacher Sani completely believes it and leaves, that's when they literally run out of the school. Akk would have run away if Ayan hadn't whispered for him to get into the car.

Once inside the car, they both sigh in relief at being far from being caught.

Akk doesn't know where to go, he wants to disappear. He doesn't want to have this conversation with Ayan.

Ayan receives a call from teacher Sani, saying that his homework was not there and Ayan only lies that Akk had it.

"She almost caught us." Ayan says, catching his breath.

"Thank you..." Akk knows he didn't have to say that when Ayan looks at him in disbelief and anger. He just wants to get out of here. "I'll go home."

Akk tries to open the door, but Ayan reaches out and closes it again, preventing Akk from escaping.

"Wait," Ayan says, too close to his face and Akk feels like an ant next to an elephant. Ayan can crush him if he wanted to. "We have something to talk about."

Akk feels uncomfortable all the way. His shoulders are tense and he's racking his brains, not knowing what to do. What can he say to Ayan? They are going to have that conversation whether he wants to or not.

Ayan doesn't look at him once while he drives, Ayan doesn't say anything and has the most serious expression he's ever seen.

Akk always complains about how annoying Ayan is, but seeing him right now, Akk prefers to see him with his usual teasing and flirting.

Ayan takes them to the beach and Akk's stomach sinks. The beach is his favorite place in the world, he enjoys spending his time in the sea and the feeling of the sand between his toes is always comforting, but the idea of having that conversation with Ayan, knowing that they are going to fight, in his safe place, is not an attractive idea in any way.

Akk gets out of the car and starts walking along the beach, getting as far away from Ayan as possible. It's not very difficult to keep distance, Akk has longer legs.

"Akk," Ayan calls, running after the prefect. "Akk, are you the one who brought Suppalo's curse back?"

Ayan already knows, of course he knows, that's why he had stayed late at school. When he put the chocolate inside Akk's locker, he saw the lighter and couldn't let Akk do what had in mind. The car and the flowerpot are bad enough, Akk doesn't need to add arson to his background.
