Since Uncle Di's death, there were many changes in his life, even his few relationships had been affected.

Ayan was always an introverted boy who spent most of the day with his nose buried in a book. He likes to learn and sometimes, that is reason enough for not to make friends. That never really affected him, he has Ray attached to his hip all the time and his brother is annoying enough that Ayan doesn't think he needs any more headaches.

Ray is much more outgoing, impulsive and even somewhat cruel at times, but he has always been good to Ayan. They have different points of view on many things, but they still have many others in common and they had a fairly stable brotherly relationship. They always played video games on Friday nights and hung out with Uncle Di together without exceptions.

Until Uncle Di was gone. Ayan began to express himself a lot and was crying every night. He fell into depression for a while and even a year after his uncle's death, he still needs pills and has nightmares.

Ray, had a very different change. His brother had started drinking whenever he could. It was Ayan's job to drag Ray's drunk ass home from a bar at two in the morning. His mother doesn't know anything, she travels a lot for her job and is hardly at home, but she calls every day without exceptions.

Ayan was starting to get tired. Ray sometimes gets into stupid fights that he pathetically loses, and even Ayan has seen him smoke several times. Even though he tries to get Ray to stop, he can't get it.

He of course tried to tell his mother, but Ray had a knack for interrupting the moment.

Ray's grades dropped at an incredible rate, but he doesn't seem to care in the slightest, he's more focused on partying or getting drunk.

Mom and Ray fought several times over his grades or nights out, but by now his brother was fighting with so many people, including himself, that he almost didn't care.

So Ayan spends three weeks of the new school year at Parot before making a rash decision. In Uncle Di's diaries, he had read something that caught his attention.

His uncle died because of Suppalo School?

Ayan doesn't think long before asking his mother to transfer to Suppalo. Ray didn't want to accompany him, but had seen him with a raised eyebrow when he argued about this with his mother at dinner.

If anyone could read his intentions well, then it's Ray, but his brother never confronts him about it and Ayan is grateful for that.

Now it's Ayan's job to drop Ray off at school, since he's the only one who has a car. Ray had rolled his eyes, because he's not a little boy who needs mom to take him to school. Ayan never shares his thoughts about knowing that Ray won't go but forces him, he was too early to fight over nonsense.

While Ray returns home to look for his phone that he forgot, Ayan wastes no time checking his brother's backpack in case he doesn't plan to bring alcohol to school. Lately, Ray has he ardly let go of alcohol bottles.

His older brother is really irresponsible and an idiot, bringing alcohol to school is a stupid move, but Ayan knows what Ray is capable. Ayan is not so disappointed when he finds the Whisky hip flask.

Ray returns a few minutes later and they leave. The road is silent and somewhat uncomfortable. Ray never talks to him when they are in the car together.

When they arrive, Ray gets out of the car and only waves with a rather vague wave.

"I'll pick you up in the afternoon. Don't go alone." Ayan shouts out the window.

Ayan isn't sure if Ray heard him, but hopes he does the one thing Ayan asks of his brother. It's not his responsibility to take care of his older brother, but sometimes feels like he should. He doesn't want to lose Ray like he lost Uncle Di.
