Atlanta , GAI checked my watch, seeing I was late to meet with my friends. I rounded the corner into the main part of the restaurant.
Once I spotted them, I scuttled towards them, cringing at the loud clicking of my heels against the floor.
"Sorry, I'm late." I breathed out, pulling my own chair out and placing my bag in the remaining chair.
"Where have you been?" Alani sassed. "We've been calling you for days. I called twice yesterday."
"I know. I've been busy." I pouted, hoping both Porsha and Alani wouldn't been too bothered.
"Excuse me." The table was interrupted by a waitress speaking to me. "Coffee, ma'am?"
"Uh, yes. Decaf, please." I quickly said and she smiled, walking away.
My best friends just stared at me in disbelief. I scanned my outfit, making sure I wasn't dirty. At least, that's why I thought they looked that way.
Alani's mouth opened and she exchanged a glance with Porsha, who chuckled. Then their attention fell back on me.
"Oh hell no." Alani shook her head.
I sat up, looking between them. "What are you talking about?"
Alani just scoffed, waving her hands around like a lunatic. On the other hand, Porsha leaned into the table, ready to explain to me why they were being weird.
"Only good sex can make you smile like that."
My face flushed of its colour as I froze. She said that entirely too loud, so I leaned forward too. "We did not have sex." I gritted.
I slapped my hand over my mouth, realising I'd confirmed their theory that I was with someone.
"There's someone." Alani mouthed, nudging Porsha.
I tuned them out as the waitress came back over with my coffee. I thanked her with an over the top, tight-lipped smile. That smile dropped the second she left.
"You're glowing." Alani pointed out.
Porsha hummed in agreement. "Just tell us."
My gaze shifted to anything but them. They kept nagging and I snapped my head towards the both of my friends.
"No, no, no. Because you're just going to judge me because you two are-" I gestured towards them very clearly. "Judgemental."
"Oh, God." Alani straightened her spine as her small smile completely dropped. "Is he married?"
As if she didn't get with a married man.
"She's not married. I'm not a hooker." I whispered then bit my tongue, after unintentionally revealing more.
"She?" Porsha blurted.
My eyes widened and I put a finger to my lips. "Shhh!"
"Are we surprised?"
