Jisung's P.O.V
"Our aim is to keep both Alicia and Heejin out of harm's way" Chan spoke, the group all in a heated discussion around the table in the office.
"And Changbin and Felix. I know they can handle themselves boss but who knows what the Sanleone's are up to. I worry they'll hurt them just to get to Heejin" I answered, knowing more was at stake here.
"I think the best thing to do is form a plan quickly. We've been given the ultimatum, they won't touch either of the three until the time is up for Alicia. You have my word on that" Cassie spoke, as if trying to deflect her involvement on the matter here.
Tensions were high, I knew Chan would lash out at her just because of her relations to the enemy. But fighting each other wasn't the option, we had to work together to keep our group safe as a whole.
While the group discussed I moved my gaze to Alicia, her body slightly slumped in a chair in the corner of the room. In no way her usual self, getting involved in plans and taking charge as she would do.
I frowned seeing her this way, only imagining the thoughts rushing through her mind, Chan's too. Their daughter's safety was their priority, yet it was up to us to ensure the two best parents I knew were protected too.
"Yeonjun, is it worth reaching out to Mingi?" Yunho asked as Yeonjun only shrugged, Mingi wasn't exactly our most trusted asset.
"Who's to say he hasn't turned against us already" Hyunjin answered for him, saying the words I think we were all thinking.
"That's a fair point, the only good thing that came from Mingi was you Yeonjun" Seungmin answered, giving an encouraging pat on the back of Yeonjun's shoulder who smiled gratefully.
"Look no answer is going to be straightforward. There are pros and cons against every decision. Alicia, is there anything you'd like to add to this discussion?" Minhyun spoke up for the first time, the attention in the room all diverting to Alicia who finally looked up from her seat. My heart ached seeing my closest friend in this state, like she was truly lost and broken.
She shook her head, a defeated sigh escaping her lips.
"I- I uh, I really don't know. This is all a bit too much for me right now" she spoke, her face a little flustered but her emotions reaching us all. How was it possible to go from on top of the world, ready for any attack, to lowest of the food chain...desperately wanting another chance?
