Hi my darlings. I have seen your cries for me to update so I am going to try my best to push past my writer's block T-T. If the chapters are not good I'm sorry. Anyway, enjoy the chapter!!
Kina's POV
"Kina hurry up we are going to be late!" My mother yelled from the bottom of the staircase. I turned to face my bedroom mirror, straightening my suit and making sure my hair looked alright. My Aunt Mirage was hosting a fancy dinner thing tonight and I definitely was not looking forward to it. I heard my mom's heels click down the hallway and stop in the doorway.
"We're going to be late to your birthday party" my mom huffed. I sighed and rolled my eyes. I grabbed my phone off my bedside table and followed her out of my bedroom and downstairs.
Did I mention that the dinner was for me?
"How long are you and Aunt Mirage gonna gaslight yourselves into believing I enjoy these birthday parties?" I scowled at my mother. She chuckled and handed me a small gift box with a smile.
"Happy birthday darling" she spoke softly. My expression softened and I opened the gift she had presented me with. A set of car keys sat delicately in the box and my eyes widened. I gasped and gently took the keys out of the box.
"Mom you did not!?" I stared at her in disbelief. She chuckled and nodded her head in confirmation. I ran out the door to the driveway to find a brand new black Audi in the driveway. I screamed in excitement and ran towards my new car in awe.
"Mom you got me an Audi!?" I screamed. She laughed at my reaction, nodding her head in confirmation once more. I ran into her arms, pulling her in for a tight hug. I thanked her a million times causing her to laugh harder.
"Well what are you waiting for, lets get going we're already late" she got into the passenger seat of the car and motioned for me to follow her. I got into the driver's seat and started the car. The engine roared to life, sending electricity through my veins. My mother buckled her seatbelt and said a little prayer before I put the car in drive and sped off to my Aunt's house.

"Happy birthday my Kina" my Aunt Mirage greeted me with a bone crushing hug as soon as I arrived. As soon as she released me from the hug I gasped for air. She chuckled and pinched my cheek between her fingers.
"Thank you for doing this" I thanked my aunt. Even though I despised these parties I was still grateful that she took the time to host them for me every year. She brushed it off with a smile and led my mother and I to the living room that had been converted into a fancy ballroom for the sake of tonight.
"I'm gonna go over to Gale and Cassie" I excused myself from my mother and aunt and made my way over to my best friends. Cassie immediately pulled me in for a hug and squealed excitedly. Cassie adored these parties because they gave her an excuse to dress up and drink champagne.
"Happy birthday Kina" Cassie squealed excitedly. It was clear she had already had quite a bit to drink. I chuckled lightly and thanked her. Gale hugged me briefly and wished me a happy birthday.
"Did you get any gifts so far?" Gale asked. I nodded and produced the car keys from my blazer pocket. Gale and Cassie's eyes widened in shock at the Audi car keys that I held in my hands. My friends begged me to go for a drive and I promised them I'd take them for a drive later. The room began to fill up with more and more people. Some of the people I tolerated from school, my friends from the studio and the family members that I actually liked.
My gaze shifted towards the door just as Erika walked in. My heart skipped a beat as I took in her appearance. She was wearing a beautiful black dress with a puffy skirt that dropped just below her knees. She was making conversation with my mom and I so desperately wanted to steal her away but I held my composure.
